The Hidden Epidemic Exposed: The New Tardive Dyskinesia (TD) Resource Center

madinamerica

First off, Reaching Dr Breggin's site in the Democrat owned State we reside in, ain't happening for us on public WIFI. Here's what accessing it returns us.

Access to the requested site has been restricted due to your organization’s policy.

Description: Website contains prohibited Drugs content.
Group Number: X
Ip Address: XX.XXX.XX.XXX

No, Governor, and People's Socialist Workers Party State Legislature, it is Not prohibited content BY Your own rules. It addresses FDA Approved Federal Racketeering Statute Violating 'Medications' (and we gag on using the word 'Medications' since Govt/Industry Sales Hype to the contrary, there is nothing medicinal about the filth).

This is Government using Your money, against you, to cover up its own Criminal Drug Deals.

Dr Breggin's site exposes FDA approved for sale agents of chemical warfare advertised as 'Medications' treating the Symptoms of 'Behaviors' which may OFFEND other people.

Gotta say it, again.

The 1st Amendment guarantees no one any 'Right' to be protected from being Offended.

Screed off. On to Dr Breggin's article.

Tardive dyskinesia is a dreadful disorder caused by all the antipsychotic drugs. Most obviously, it causes disfiguring and sometimes wholly disabling bizarre involuntary movements that afflict any muscles of the body that are normally partially or wholly under voluntary control. This includes the eyes, mouth, tongue, face, arms and legs, fingers and toes, neck and shoulders, and back and torso. It can impair the diaphragm and breathing, the vocal cords and speech, or the esophagus and swallowing. It can cause painful and deforming spasms, often of the neck and shoulders (tardive dystonia). TD can cause a torture-like inner agitation (tardive akathisia) that drives people into psychosis, violence, and suicide. Especially when severe, TD is often associated with cognitive impairments, dementia, and psychosis. People who suffer from it tend to become isolated from society and many become disabled.

The list of newer antipsychotic drugs includes Risperdal (risperidone), Abilify (aripiprazole), Geodon (ziprasidone), Invega (paliperidone), Latuda (lurasidone), Rexulti (brexpiprazole), Risperdal (risperidone), Saphris (asenapine), Seroquel (quetiapine), and Zyprexa (olanzapine). Older antipsychotics include Haldol (haloperidol) and Thorazine (chlorpromazine). All cause TD.

Everything described here is backed by scientific articles easily retrievable on my new Tardive Dyskinesia (TD) Resource Center on www.Breggin.com.

After an individual suffers from TD for more than a few months, the likelihood of recovery becomes very small. There are no effective and safe treatments.

When removed from the drugs, some people with TD improve over time, usually without full recovery. Others develop new symptoms and grow more impaired.

TD can manifest as one or multiple symptoms, varies from day to day, and tends to disappear in sleep. Tension, anxiety and fatigue can temporarily worsen the symptoms, but play no role whatsoever in causing TD.

TD rates for people on antipsychotic drugs are astronomical. In healthy young adults given antipsychotics, the cumulative rate is 5%-8% per year, which builds up to 15% to 24% at 3 years. The rate steadily rises with age, equaling or exceeding a cumulative rate of 25% to 30%per year patients 65 and older. It afflicts children on antipsychotics at rates similar to young adults and can ruin their lives before they get started.

Worse yet, the actual rates are even higher because the patients who are studied are usually taking the antipsychotic drugs at the time of the study, and these drugs mask the symptoms of TD while they are developing.

How many victims are there? In the last few decades, the drug companies and psychiatry have suppressed any estimates. However, we are informed that in 2011, more than 3 million patients were given antipsychotic drugs in the US. With such high rates of TD, we can make a modest estimate that approximately 10% (or 300,000) newly medicated patients will develop tardive dyskinesia each year. (Since many of the patients are in nursing homes, many would have TD rates as high as 30% per year.) Those who stay on the drugs, as many do, will face increasing risks in the future. If we consider the many people living with TD that they incurred years earlier, along with those now approaching a risk reaching 25% to 30% per year, it is certain that many millions of Americans have TD. Probably tens of millions have been afflicted since the drugs first came out in 1954.

Scientific reports first identified tardive dyskinesia in the late 1950s. We must give up hoping that the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the drug companies, or the medical profession will do anything substantial about this growing pandemic. My work, and that of Bob Whitaker and others, has demonstrated that these neurotoxins produce widespread harm and that their demonstrable value approaches nil. Long-term, people on antipsychotic drugs tend to deteriorate physically and mentally. We must continue to educate the public until people begin refusing to submit themselves to the epidemic.

The Tardive Dyskinesia (TD) Resource Center is one more step in the direction of educating the public, as well as the professions. The Tardive Dyskinesia Resource Center offers a simple yet thorough introduction to the drug-induced disorder, a list of offending medications, and illustrative videos. PDFs of about 150 scientific articles are organized by subject such as rates for adults, children and older people; evidence that the newer drugs are as bad as the older ones; studies showing brain damage and cognitive dysfunction, and a dozen more subjects.

Please help to spread the word about this new and entirely free TD resource center.

Risperdal Lawsuit Alleges Tardive Dyskinesia

via Injury Lawyer News;
Risperdal Side Effects Lawsuit - Risperidone Tardive Dyskinesia Risk

Risperdal dangers
Arkansas resident Carry Ball is suing Janssen Pharmaceuticals, Inc. and Johnson & Johnson based on allegations that the defendants designed, manufactured and sold a defective drug known as Risperdal, causing her to suffer permanent injuries. Ball contends that as a direct and proximate result of her exposure to Risperdal, she now suffers Extrapyramidal Symptoms (EPS) and tardive dyskinesia, characterized by uncontrollable mouth and tongue movements, trouble speaking, tremors, and shaking. Furthermore, Ball’s Risperdal side effects lawsuit claims that she also developed diabetes, gastrointestinal problems, urinary incontinence, and other physiological conditions from taking the atypical antipsychotic.
Her complaint was originally filed in the Pulaski County Circuit Court but has been moved to the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Arkansas in Little Rock. Patriot Pharmaceuticals, LLC, AstraZeneca, Little Rock Community Mental Health Center Inc., and Little Rock Community Mental Health Center Pharmacy are also listed as defendants on the complaint. Ball is demanding compensatory, general and special damages for her pain and suffering, mental anguish, embarrassment and humiliation, past and future health care costs, caretaking expenses and medical monitoring.

Risperdal side effects lawsuit facts and allegations

Court documents state that Carry Ball was diagnosed with Major Depressive Disorder (MOD) with recurrent psychotic symptoms and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) in 2005, for which she was prescribed both Seroquel and Risperdal. She took both medications on and off for a period of years, as directed by Dr. Brandon Wall and other physicians at Little Rock Community Mental Health Center. The plaintiff argues that Risperdal and Seroquel were not FDA approved for treatment of depressive symptoms unassociated with Bipolar Disorder, MOD or PTSD during the time frame when she took both medications, and to her knowledge, are still not approved for this off-label use today.
Risperdal was falsely promoted by the defendants as an effective treatment for schizophrenia and Bipolar Disorder, and was falsely promoted as a safe treatment for non-FDA approved uses, such as for PTSD and MDD, according to Carry Ball. The lawsuit further contends that the defendants downplayed and covered up the Risperdal tardive dyskinesia risk posed to patients taking the drug as prescribed and for those taking it for non-FDA approved uses.
Adverse Risperdal side effects were known to the manufacturers based on their own clinical research, but the defendants failed to warn both the public and health care community of these risks, according to the complaint. Carry Ball, like others who’ve filed a Risperdal side effects lawsuit, states that the defendants knew or should have known that the antipsychotic causes neurological problems including EPS and tardive dyskinesia, in addition to diabetes, pancreatitis, hyperglycemia, cardiovascular complications, incontinence, and metabolic syndrome, yet the product labeling has failed to provide an adequate warning of these and other adverse reactions.
Ball is also seeking punitive damages for the alleged willful, fraudulent and reckless acts of the defendants who demonstrated a disregard and indifference for the safety and welfare of the general public.

Risperdal and tardive dyskinesia

Ball’s complaint isn’t the first Risperdal side effects lawsuit that alleges the drug caused symptoms of tardive dyskinesia. In 2000, a Philadelphia circuit court jury handed down a $6.7 million verdict to a patient who developed the permanent movement disorder after taking Risperdal (generic: risperidone).
Forty-five year old Elizabeth Liss was diagnosed with bipolar disorder by psychiatrist Jan W. Doeff, who prescribed Risperdal. Jurors found that Dr. Doeff was negligent in his treatment. After taking Risperdal, Liss developed a form of TD called tardive dystonia – a condition that causes her to make uncontrolled facial grimaces and suffer impaired swallowing and occasional bouts of irregular breathing.

FDA Slow To Review Reports of Risperdal Side Effects

Injury Lawyer News has;
FDA Slow To Review Reports of Risperdal Side Effects

Risperdal dangers
According to a July 11, 2013 report in thePhiladelphia Inquirer, the FDA is not acting fast enough to address the concerns surrounding Johnson & Johnson’s anti-psychotic drug Risperdal. Though over 400 Risperdal lawsuits have been filed in courts throughout the country, the agency has not strengthened warnings on the drug since 2005, when they required a black box warning concerning the use of the drug in elderly patients with dementia.
citizen petition submitted to the FDA last year asked the agency to obtain data on the drug that was revealed during litigation, but has since been sealed under court orders. The agency has the authority to demand safety-related documents for review, but has not done so thus far.

Information discovered during Risperdal lawsuits

According to the news report, the FDA is “actively reviewing” the citizen petition, and has asked the manufacturer to submit all available data regarding the use of Risperdal and another similar medication, Invega, in children and adolescents. So far the agency has declined to answer questions about the matter.
Information disclosed in litigation motivated the submission of the citizen petition in the first place. J&J has stated, however, that “no legitimate purpose would be served by declassifying the documents identified by plaintiffs.” Plaintiffs’ counsel, however, wants to provide some of that information to the press as it may shed light on adverse side effects of Risperdal.

Risperdal side effects

The FDA approved Risperdal in 1993 to treat schizophrenia, symptoms of bipolar disorder, and symptoms of irritability in autistic children. The drug is assumed to work by affecting serotonin and dopamine in the brain, interfering with communication between them to help calm negative symptoms like hallucinations and delusions.
Some doctors have also used Risperdal for off-label, non-approved purposes, such as to treat obsessive-compulsive disorders, stuttering, Tourettes syndrome, and severe dementia. Reports of Risperdal side effects have included occurrences of tardive dyskinesia, diabetes, sexual dysfunction, gynecomastia (enlargement of male breasts), cardiovascular problems, stroke, and even death.

Injured patients file Risperdal lawsuits

Plaintiffs who suffered injuries allegedly caused by Risperdal (risperidone) have filed claims in an attempt to recover damages. One of the most common allegations made in these lawsuits is that the drug causes breast enlargement, or gynecomastia in boys.
In a study published in 2006 in the Journal of Clinical Psychopharmacology, researchers stated that risperidone administered to adolescents at doses commonly used for the treatment of psychotic symptoms can increase prolactin levels, which is a hormone that stimulates breast development in women. Clinical consequences included gynecomastia, or abnormal breast development in boys or men.
Current estimates are that over 130 Rispderdal lawsuits have been filed by patients claiming to have suffered gynecomastia.
J&J has also faces litigation based on charges that the company illegally promoted the drug for off-label uses. As recently as May 2013, the Kentucky attorney general filed another claim charging the manufacturers with hiding and minimizing Risperdal side effects like diabetes and weight gain, and concealing evidence that Risperdal causes increased levels of a hormone that stimulates breast development and milk production in children.

Tardive Dyskinesia: My Grandma - Video

If You were selling This, Tardive Dyskinesia, would You want to admit that what You Did to this woman was Your fault?

Or would you try to sidestep any civil and criminal liability for it by pretending that you Don't Even Exist?

SFMHB 06/13/07

1st one not graphic enough for you?

Now, ....... since Psychology is Bait and Switch, no, it's not Science, ....... getting people who know, or suspect, that they're being bamboozled into swallowing Tardive Dyskinesias and/or anything Else Psychiatric Drugs cause, such as murder, which remains "Non-Disclosed" under the medical Doctrine/Excuse to Defraud known as "Therapeutic Privilege" (you can google it yourself because the folks who cooked it up are somewhat testy about having their Excuse To Defraud shared about) and when people who are Rightly suspicious of the Quacks, offer the temerity of their Refusal to swallow the non-disclosed side effects and they need Persuading, ....... then the Tardive Dyskinesia sales force retreat back even Further off the Legal Reservation by hiding behind Another Specious Excuse to Defraud called "Substituted Judgment".

Yeah. Their Judgment, because of its unimpeachability, needs to be Substituted over Treatment Refusals, .....

SFMHB 06/13/07

Let's look at what happens when One individual's, or a Conspiracy of Individuals, Judgment, becomes Superior to other Individual's Rights.

WIKI has;

The FUHRERPRINZIP

The Führerprinzip [ˈfyːʀɐpʀɪnˌtsiːp] ( listen)German for "leader principle", prescribed the fundamental basis of political authority in the governmental structures of the Third Reich. This principle can be most succinctly understood to mean that "the Führer's word is above all written law" and that governmental policies, decisions, and offices ought to work toward the realization of this end.[1] In actual political usage, it refers mainly to the practice of dictatorship within the ranks of a political party itself, and as such, it has become an earmark of politicalFascism.

[edit]Ideology

The Führerprinzip was not invented by the National Socialists. Hermann Graf Keyserling, a German philosopher, was the first to use the term "Führerprinzip". One of Keyserling's central claims was that certain 'gifted individuals' were "born to rule" on the basis of Social Darwinism.
The ideology of the Führerprinzip sees each organization as a hierarchy of leaders, where every leader (Führer, in German) has absoluteresponsibility in his own area, demands absolute obedience from those below him and answers only to his superiors.[2] This required obedience and loyalty even over concerns of right and wrong.[2] The supreme leaderAdolf Hitler, answered to God and the German people. Giorgio Agamben has argued that Hitler saw himself as an incarnation of auctoritas, and as the living law or highest law itself, effectively combining in his persona executive powerjudicial power and legislative power. After the campaign against the alleged Röhm Putsch, Hitler declared: "in this hour, I was responsible for the fate of the German nation and was therefore the supreme judge of the German people!"[3]
The Führerprinzip paralleled the functionality of military organizations, which continue to use a similar authority structure today, although in democratic countries members are supposed to be restrained by codes of conduct. The justification for the civil use of the Führerprinzip was that unquestioning obedience to superiors supposedly produced order and prosperity in which those deemed 'worthy' would share.
This began as soon as the Beer Hall Putsch; Hitler used his trial for propaganda to present himself, claiming it had been his sole responsibility and inspiring the title Führer.[4]
This principle became the law of the National Socialist German Worker's Party and the SS and was later transferred onto the whole German totalitarian society. Appointed mayors replaced elected local governments. Schools lost elected parents councils and faculty advisory boards, with all authority being put in the headmaster's hands.[5] The Nazis suppressed associations and unions with elected leaders, putting in their place mandatory associations with appointed leaders. The authorities allowed private corporations to keep their internal organization, but with a simple renaming from hierarchy to Führerprinzip. Shop stewards had their authority carefully circumscribed to prevent their infringing on that of the plant leader.[6]
In practice, the selection of unsuitable candidates often led to micromanagement and commonly to an inability to formulate coherent policy. Albert Speer noted that many Nazi officials dreaded making decisions in Hitler's absence. Rules tended to become oral rather than written; leaders with initiative who flouted regulations and carved out their own spheres of influence might receive praise and promotion rather than censure.

[edit]Propaganda

Many propaganda films developed the importance of the FührerprinzipFlüchtlinge depicted Volga German refugees saved from Communist persecution by a leader demanding unquestioning obedience.[7] Der Herrscher altered its source material to depict its hero, Clausen, as the unwavering leader of his munitions firm, who, faced with his children's machinations, disowns them and bestows the firm on the state, confident that a worker will arise capable of continuing his work and, as a true leader, needing no instruction.[8] Carl Peters shows the title character in firm, decisive action to hold and win African colonies, but brought down by a parliament that does not realize the necessity of Führerprinzip.[9]
In the schools, adolescent boys were presented with Nordic sagas as the illustration of Führerprinzip, which was developed with such heroes as Frederick the Great and Prince Otto Von Bismarck.[10]
This combined with the glorification of the one, central Führer. During the Night of Long Knives, his decisive action saved Germany,[11] though it meant (in Goebbels's description) suffering "tragic loneliness" from being a Siegfried forced to shed blood to preserve Germany.[12] A speech explicitly proclaims, "The Führer is always right."[13] Booklets given out for the Winter Relief donations included The Führer Makes History,[14][15] a collection of Hitler photographs,[16] and The Führer’s Battle in the East 2[17] Films such as Der Marsch zum Führer and Triumph of the Will glorified him.
Carl Schmitt—drawn to the Nazi party by his admiration for a decisive leader—[18] praised him in his pamphlet State, Volk and Movement because only the ruthless will of such a leader could save Germany and its people from the "asphalt culture" of modernity, to bring about unity and authenticity.[19]

[edit]Application

During the post-war Nuremberg Trials, Nazi war criminals—and, later, Adolf Eichmann during his trial in Israel—used the Führerprinzip concept to argue that they were not guilty for war crimes by claiming that they were only following orders. Eichmann explicitly declared having abandoned his conscience in order to "do his job" and follow the orders. InEichmann in JerusalemHannah Arendt concluded that, aside from a desire for improving his career, Eichmann showed no trace of anti-Semitism or psychological damage. She called him the embodiment of the "banality of evil", as he appeared at his trial to have an ordinary and common personality, displaying neither guilt nor hatred, denying any form of responsibility. Eichmann argued he was simply "doing his job" and maintained he had always tried to act in accordance with Kant's categorical imperative. Arendt suggested that these statements most strikingly discredit the idea that Nazi criminals were manifestly psychopathic and different from common people. That even the most ordinary of people can commit horrendous crimes if placed in the catalyzing situation, and given the correct incentives, but Arendt disagreed with this interpretation—as Eichmann justified himself with the Führerprinzip. Arendt argued that children obey, whereas adults adhere to an ideology.
