Vice President-elect Mike Pence said Sunday that Donald Trump plans to take on ObamaCare at the start of his first term.

“Decisions have been made by the president-elect that he wants to focus out of the gate on repealing Obamacare,” Pence said on “Fox News Sunday.”

“And beginning the process of replacing Obamacare with the kind of free-market solutions that he campaigned on.”

The president-elect vowed throughout his campaign to repeal and replace Obamacare, offering railing against President Obama’s signature healthcare law.

Chuck Grassley Praises Jeff Sessions As Trump's Pick for US Attorney General

Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee Chuck Grassley is praising President-elect Donald Trump's decision to appoint colleague Jeff Sessions as Attorney General for the new administration.

"Senator Sessions is a respected member and former Ranking Member of the Judiciary Committee who has worked across the aisle on major legislation. He knows the Justice Department as a former U.S. attorney, which would serve him very well in this position," Grassley said in a statement Friday. "With this background, I'm confident he would be reported favorably out of the committee."

Grassley will oversee the confirmation hearing Sessions will endure before assuming the position as America's top law enforcement early next year.

The conservative American Center For Law and Justice is also applauding Sessions' appointment in addition to Trump's decision to appoint Rep. Mike Pompeo to head up the CIA.“These choices are fantastic. Both are excellent leaders who will help set the tone for a Trump Administration that is serious about upholding the Constitution and the rule of law while elevating our intelligence capabilities at a time when our country is facing grave danger from terrorists,” ACLJ Chief Counsel Jay Sekulow said in a statement. “As Attorney General, Sen. Sessions will bring stability and credibility back to a troubled Justice Department under the Obama Administration. Sen. Sessions has the knowledge, leadership, and capability to restore the institutional credibility at the Justice Department."

Trump Team Announces Tough New Lobbying Ban

President-elect Donald Trump’s transition team on Wednesday announced that it will require incoming officials to terminate their lobbying registrations, and agree not to lobby again for five years after leaving the administration.

Anyone joining the transition or the administration will have to sign the following pledge: “By signing below I hereby certify that I am not currently registered and reporting as a federal lobbyist as defined by the Lobbying Disclosure Act as amended or as a compensated lobbyist at the state level in any state. If I was listed as lobbyist in the most recent lobbying disclosure forms or reported to be filed by federal or state law, I hereby notify the president-elect’s transition team that I have filed the necessary forms to the appropriate government agency to terminate my registered lobbyist. I will provide the transition team with written evidence of my federal or state lobbyist termination as soon as possible.”

Veterans Group Wants Congress To Wait For Trump To Pass More Aggressive VA Reform Bill

The Department of Veterans Affairs needs a cleansing from top to bottom.

A massive veterans reform bill backed by the Department of Veterans Affairs will face resistance in Congress’ lame-duck session starting Tuesday from a group intent on letting the new Republican-controlled Senate and President-Elect Donald Trump have a say in how expeditiously VA employees can be fired.

With only a couple of months left as VA Secretary, Bob McDonald is making one final appeal to Congress to pass the reform bill that’s the culmination of his two-year tenure. The 400-page Veterans First Act contains dozens of provisions to streamline the appeals process for disability compensation, allow more leeway in disciplining employees and grant VA medical staff the ability to work flexible hours, among other things.

“We worked to design a new law. We’ve given a new law to Congress, and we’ve asked Congress to pass that new law,” McDonald said Thursday during an event at The Washington Post. “I’m hoping it gets passed in the lame-duck session.”

But the legislation has garnered opponents, and one veterans service organization — conservative-leaning Concerned Veterans for America — is planning a major campaign starting Tuesday to thwart efforts to move it through the Senate.

‘Power of the presidency’

The bill was authored by the Senate Committee on Veterans’ Affairs chairman Sen. Johnny Isakson, R-Ga., and ranking member Sen. Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn. In the months after its introduction, six large veterans service organizations came out in support of it: Vietnam Veterans of America, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Paralyzed Veterans of America, The American Legion, Disabled American Veterans and AMVETS.

Concerned Veterans for America says the legislation is “watered down.”

With Trump elected president, Congress should wait to pass a stronger bill that would give the next VA Secretary more power to immediately fire employees, said CVA leader Dan Caldwell.

Ever since Donald Trump's election victory Tuesday night, the media have been abuzz with stories about massive, sometimes violent, anti-Trump protests breaking out in cities all across the country. We've been told that ordinary Americans everywhere are so frightened and angered by the prospect of a Trump presidency—as opposed to a Hillary Clinton presidency—that they're taking to the streets to express their grave concerns for the future of the country. 

In Chicago, for instance, thousands of people held an “emergency protest” outside a Trump hotel, chanting: “No Trump, No KKK, No Fascist USA!” 

In New York, some 5,000 people (including the political oracle Lady Gaga) demonstrated outside Trump Tower. “Their concerns,” said CNN, “ranged from policies, such as Trump's proposed plan to build a wall along the U.S.-Mexican border, to the polarizing tenor of his campaign that they say stoked xenophobic fears.” 

In Oakland, some of the 7,000+ demonstrators damaged police cars, vandalized businesses, hurled Molotov cocktails and rocks at law-enforcement officers, and started at least 40 separate fires.
And in Los Angeles, more than 1,000 people filled the streets, burned Trump in effigy, and sang John Lennon's Give Peace a Chance. “Several protesters said they feared that family or friends might be deported once Trump takes office,” said CNN. 

From reading the various mainstream media accounts of these events, one comes away with the distinct impression that they are grassroots actions that began organically among ordinary, concerned, well-meaning citizens.

But alas, if one were to think that, one would be wrong.
Contrary to media misrepresentations, many of the supposedly spontaneous, organic, anti-Trump protests we have witnessed in cities from coast to coast were in fact carefully planned and orchestrated, in advance, by a pro-Communist organization called the ANSWER Coalition, which draws its name from the acronym for “Act Now to Stop War and End Racism.” ANSWER was established in 2001 by Ramsey Clark’s International Action Center, a group staffed in large part by members of the Marxist-Leninist Workers World Party. In 2002, the libertarian author Stephen Suleyman Schwartz described ANSWER as an “ultra-Stalinist network” whose members served as “active propaganda agents for Serbia, Iraq, and North Korea, as well as Cuba, countries they repeatedly visit and acclaim.” 

Since its inception, ANSWER has consistently depicted the United States as a racist, sexist, imperialistic, militaristic nation guilty of unspeakable crimes against humanity—in other words, a wellspring of pure evil. When ANSWER became a leading organizer of the massive post-9/11 demonstrations against the Patriot Act and the U.S. invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq, it formed alliances with other likeminded entities such as Not In Our Name (a project of the Revolutionary Communist Party) and United For Peace and Justice (a pro-Castro group devoted to smearing America as a cesspool of bigotry and oppression). 

Another key organizer of the current anti-Trump protests is a group called Socialist Alternative, which describes “the global capitalist system” as “the root cause of … poverty, discrimination, war, and environmental destruction.” Explaining that “the dictatorships that existed in the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe were [unfortunate] perversions of what socialism is really about,” this organization calls for a happy-faced “democratic socialism where ordinary people will have control over our daily lives.” 

And, lo and behold, many components of Socialist Alternative's agenda mesh seamlessly with Hillary Clinton's political priorities. For instance, Socialist Alternative seeks to: (a) “raise the federal minimum wage to $15 an hour, as a step toward a living wage for all”; (b) provide “free [taxpayer-funded] … public education for all from pre-school through college”; (c) create “a publicly funded single-payer [healthcare] system as a step towards fully socialized medicine”; (d) impose absolutely “no budget cuts [on] education and social services”; and (e) legislate “a major increase in taxes on the rich and big business.” 

In short, the anti-Trump protests that are currently making headlines are 100% contrived, fake, phony exhibitions of street theater, orchestrated entirely by radicals and revolutionaries whose chief objective is to push America ever farther to the political left. Moreover, they seek to utterly demoralize conservatives into believing that public opposition to their own (conservative) political and social values is growing more powerful, more passionate, and more widespread with each passing day. 

The bottom line is this: The leaders and organizers of the anti-Trump protests that are currently making so much noise in cities across America, are faithfully following the blueprint of Hillary Clinton's famous mentor, Saul Alinsky, who urged radical activists to periodically stage loud, defiant, massive protest rallies expressing rage and discontent. Such demonstrations are designed to give onlookers the impression that a mass movement is preparing to shift into high gear, and that its present size is but a fraction of what it eventually will become. A “mass impression,” said Alinsky, can be lasting and intimidating: “Power is not only what you have but what the enemy thinks you have.... The threat is usually more terrifying than the thing itself.” 

And that is precisely what we are witnessing at the moment.

Obama's Executive Orders Which Trump will Dispose Of Immediately

Barack Obama has spent years using his authoritative pen to sign executive orders into law because Congress constantly prevented him from approving his particular set of rules. To date, Obama has singed 235 executive orders dealing with every issue from climate change to national security.

The interesting thing about executive orders is that they are built on faulty foundations. They are more theoretical than factual. An executive order can be ripped out from under itself just as quickly as it was signed.

On day one of his presidency, Donald Trump will be able to shred and dispose of any executive order that Obama signed into law, making them 100 percent invalid.

Here is a list of orders we can expect to see Trump handle immediately:

Climate change- The Paris Agreement, EPA regulations, Clean Power Plan

Trade- North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) Negotiations

Health Care- Any order that supports Obamacare (a program that Congress has to repeal)

Immigration- Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program (DACA)

National Security- Ensuring Lawful Interrogations, Iran Sanctions

You can also expect to see any miscellaneous regulations involving the economy, gun sales, and technology restrictions to be abolished.

Needless to say, the Obama administration, which was built on a faulty executive overreach foundation, will quickly come crashing down. Arrogantly, Obama will try and persuade Trump from eliminating his executive orders when they meet at the White House on Thursday.

Trump Plans To Defund ObamaCare On Day One

President-elect Donald Trump is preparing to defund Obamacare “on day one,” a source familiar with Trump’s transition team told The Daily Caller News Foundation.

Trump made repealing Obamacare a central tenant of his campaign, regularly promising voters that he will repeal and replace Obamacare “with something terrific.”

Congressional Republicans and Trump are in a good position to defund the Obamacare early on in Trump’s presidency, according to a staffer for Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, who spoke with TheDCNF.

McConnell asserted Wednesday that repealing Obamacare was a top priority. “It [Repealing Obamacare] is a pretty high item on our agenda, as you know,” McConnell told reporters. “I would be shocked if we didn’t move forward to keep our commitment to the American people.”

McConnell argued Obamacare “was the single worst piece of legislation among many bad pieces of legislation passed in the first two years of the Obama presidency,” and said that, “the sooner we can go in a different direction, the better.”

The senator also cautioned his Republican colleagues, who will now control the White House and both chambers on Capitol Hill. “I don’t think we should act as if we going to be in the majority forever,” McConnell said. “We’ve been given a temporary lease on power if you will, and I think we need to use it responsibly.”

Trump’s plan to defund Obamacare, paired with McConnell’s commitment to repeal the controversial legislation may have led to an increase in customers who signed up recently, according to USA Today. A reported 100,000 new customers enrolled for the government subsidized health care plan Wednesday.

Dow Jones Industrial Hits All Time High Day After Trump Wins Presidency

The Dow Jones Industrial Average hit an all-time intraday high of 18,873.6 Thursday, the day after Donald Trump was elected president.

The Dow average also hit an all-time high before the closing bell Wednesday. The Nasdaq composite underperformed Thursday and was down .3 percent two hours after noon and the S&P 500 is up about 4 points.

Liberal economists like Paul Krugman had anticipated that a Trump election would be disastrous for the markets. Initially, Tuesday night they were plunging but surged on Wednesday.

Krugman said Tuesday night, “If the question is when markets will recover, a first-pass answer is never.”

Krugman was wrong.

The amazing 2016 election is in the books and, despite countless prophecies to the contrary, Donald J. Trump will be the new commander-in-chief of U.S. Armed Forces, the most powerful man in the world. That is an ideal position to take long overdue actions on the terrorist front. As a brief review confirms, there is no place like home to begin.

On November 5, 2009, at Ford Hood, Texas, U.S. soldiers were getting their final medical checkups before deploying to Afghanistan. Major Nidal Malik Hasan, an Army psychiatrist and self-described “Soldier of Allah,” began gunning down the soldiers, yelling “Allahu akbar” as he did so. His victims, all unarmed, included Francheska Velez, a 21-year-old private from Chicago who pleaded for the life of her unborn child.

The Muslim major killed two other women that day along with 10 men, more than twice as many victims as the first attack on the World Trade Center in 1993. This was the deadly attack that the current commander-in-chief called “workplace violence,” exempting Hasan from “gun violence,” one of the current president’s favorite themes.

Hasan also wounded 33 others including Sergeant Alonzo Lunsford, who played dead then fled the building. Major Hasan chased down Lunsford, an African-American, and shot him seven times, including one bullet in the back. Lunsford later complained that Hasan got better treatment than his victims, which was true. One victim said that Major Nidal Hasan did not deserve to live, and that is also true.

To serve the interest of justice, at the first opportunity President Trump should have this Islamic terrorist mass murderer executed. The president should also remove from their positions those intelligence officers who knew about Hasan’s murderous plans and chose to do nothing.

On September 11, 2012, the current president did nothing as terrorists killed four Americans in Benghazi, including ambassador Chris Stevens. The president and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton essentially parroted jihadist propaganda and blamed an internet video. President Trump should take a different and more activist approach.

Every year, he should use the 9/11 anniversary to send a message by busting up some terrorist enterprise and taking down as many terrorists as possible. Perhaps this could take the form of a special-forces raid such as the one that took out Osama bin Laden. After all, it’s a target-rich environment all around the world.

Maybe President Trump could change up the day to maintain the element of surprise. In any case, he should keep his campaign promise to “bomb the shit out of ISIS,” also known as the Islamic State. Iran is also an Islamic terrorist state, and of course President Trump needs to shred the Iran nuclear deal on day one. He also needs to fulfill his promise to halt the Syrian refugee program.

If we can’t vet the refugees, as Hillary Clinton privately acknowledged, the United States should not admit them. Uzbekistan, a vast country of more than 170,000 square miles, would be a much better place for the Syrians. So would Kazakhstan, with more than one million square miles.

Both are closer to Syria than Europe or the United States and both are predominantly Islamic. Russia, the biggest country in the world with more than six million square miles, could also open up, especially since Russia’s alliance with Assad is causing Syrians to flee in the first place.

Even with the Syrian refugee program halted, terrorists still operate in the United States, confirmed by recent attacks in San Bernardino, Orlando, and Chattanooga. President Trump should add a vigorous civil-defense program to domestic counterterrorism.

Citizens should be prepared, and as the Constitution says, the right of the people to keep and bear arms should not be infringed. Citizens should also be vigilant, and no stigma should attach to those attempting to expose terrorist murderers such as Syeed Farook and Tashfeen Malik. Their targets, after all, included schools – children, in other words – and motorists on the freeway.

President Trump should recognize the brave police officers of San Bernardino, who took down the heavily armed Farook and Malik in short order, with no loss of innocent life. They deserve recognition, just like soldiers on the field of battle. Maybe the president could name the award after Kimberly D. Munley.

If that civilian police officer had not wounded Nidal Hasan, the “Soldier of Allah” would have killed more than 13 unarmed American soldiers. For that mass murder, President Trump should give the order for Nadal’s execution.

Mr. President, clean house and throw down. The nation and the world will thank you in return.

This wasn’t an election. It was a revolution.

It’s midnight in America. The day before fifty million Americans got up and stood in front of the great iron wheel that had been grinding them down. They stood there even though the media told them it was useless. They took their stand even while all the chattering classes laughed and taunted them.

They were fathers who couldn’t feed their families anymore. They were mothers who couldn’t afford health care. They were workers whose jobs had been sold off to foreign countries.

They were sons who didn’t see a future for themselves. They were daughters afraid of being murdered by the “unaccompanied minors” flooding into their towns. They took a deep breath and they stood. 


They held up their hands and the great iron wheel stopped.

The Great Blue Wall crumbled. The impossible states fell one by one. Ohio. Wisconsin. Pennsylvania. Iowa. The white working class that had been overlooked and trampled on for so long got to its feet. It rose up against its oppressors and the rest of the nation, from coast to coast, rose up with it.

They fought back against their jobs being shipped overseas while their towns filled with migrants that got everything while they got nothing. They fought back against a system in which they could go to jail for a trifle while the elites could violate the law and still stroll through a presidential election. They fought back against being told that they had to watch what they say. They fought back against being held in contempt because they wanted to work for a living and take care of their families.

They fought and they won.

This wasn’t a vote. It was an uprising. Like the ordinary men chipping away at the Berlin Wall, they tore down an unnatural thing that had towered over them. And as they watched it fall, they marveled at how weak and fragile it had always been. And how much stronger they were than they had ever known.

Who were these people? They were leftovers and flyover country. They didn’t have bachelor degrees and had never set foot in a Starbucks. They were the white working class. They didn’t talk right or think right. They had the wrong ideas, the wrong clothes and the ridiculous idea that they still mattered.

They were wrong about everything. Illegal immigration? Everyone knew it was here to stay. Black Lives Matter? The new civil rights movement. Manufacturing? As dead as the dodo. Banning Muslims? What kind of bigot even thinks that way? Love wins. Marriage loses. The future belongs to the urban metrosexual and his dot com, not the guy who used to have a good job before it went to China or Mexico.

They couldn’t change anything. A thousand politicians and pundits had talked of getting them to adapt to the inevitable future. Instead they got in their pickup trucks and drove out to vote.

And they changed everything.

Barack Hussein Obama boasted that he had changed America. A billion regulations, a million immigrants, a hundred thousand lies and it was no longer your America. It was his.

He was JFK and FDR rolled into one. He told us that his version of history was right and inevitable.

And they voted and left him in the dust. They walked past him and they didn’t listen. He had come to campaign to where they still cling to their guns and their bibles. He came to plead for his legacy.

And America said, “No.”

Fifty millions Americans repudiated him. They repudiated the Obamas and the Clintons. They ignored the celebrities. They paid no attention to the media. They voted because they believed in the impossible. And their dedication made the impossible happen.

Americans were told that walls couldn’t be built and factories couldn’t be opened. That treaties couldn’t be unsigned and wars couldn’t be won. It was impossible to ban Muslim terrorists from coming to America or to deport the illegal aliens turning towns and cities into gangland territories.

It was all impossible. And fifty million Americans did the impossible. They turned the world upside down.

It’s midnight in America. CNN is weeping. MSNBC is wailing. ABC calls it a tantrum. NBC damns it. It wasn’t supposed to happen. The same machine that crushed the American people for two straight terms, the mass of government, corporations and non-profits that ran the country, was set to win.

Instead the people stood in front of the machine. They blocked it with their bodies. They went to vote even though the polls told them it was useless. They mailed in their absentee ballots even while Hillary Clinton was planning her fireworks victory celebration. They looked at the empty factories and barren farms. They drove through the early cold. They waited in line. They came home to their children to tell them that they had done their best for their future. They bet on America. And they won.

They won improbably. And they won amazingly.

They were tired of ObamaCare. They were tired of unemployment. They were tired of being lied to. They were tired of watching their sons come back in coffins to protect some Muslim country. They were tired of being called racists and homophobes. They were tired of seeing their America disappear.

And they stood up and fought back. This was their last hope. Their last chance to be heard.

The media had the election wrong all along. This wasn’t about personalities. It was about the impersonal. It was about fifty million people whose names no one except a server will ever know fighting back. It was about the homeless woman guarding Trump’s star. It was about the lost Democrats searching for someone to represent them in Ohio and Pennsylvania. It was about the union men who nodded along when the organizers told them how to vote, but who refused to sell out their futures.

No one will ever interview all those men and women. We will never see all their faces. But they are us and we are them. They came to the aid of a nation in peril. They did what real Americans have always done. They did the impossible.

America is a nation of impossibilities. We exist because our forefathers did not take no for an answer. Not from kings or tyrants. Not from the elites who told them that it couldn’t be done.

The day when we stop being able to pull of the impossible is the day that America will cease to exist.

Today is not that day. Today fifty million Americans did the impossible.

Midnight has passed. A new day has come. And everything is about to change.

An Open Letter To Reince Pribus On Unity (May 4 2016)

Last night, after Ted Cruz dropped his bid for the White House and conservatives were left with the inevitable sinking feeling that Donald Trump was going to represent the GOP in the 2016 Presidential election, Reince Priebus took to Twitter and issue the following statement:

Dear Chairman Priebus,

I understand you have a difficult job to do. As the Chairman of the GOP, your job is to see to it that Republicans get elected. Now that Donald Trump is as you say, the presumptive nominee, it’s time for Republicans to unite behind Trump.

Let me stop you right there for a moment.

It’s one thing if Ted Cruz were the presumptive nominee. Or Marco Rubio. Hell, even John Kasich or Jeb Bush. But to say that there needs to be unity around a candidate who has shown almost zero interest in the principles of conservatism or liberty is absurd. To say people should rally around a man who has spent the better part of his life cozying up to and supporting Democrats is to ask people to betray their most closely held beliefs and values.

The problem is, sir, Donald Trump did not come out of nowhere. He was making waves back in 2011, flirting with running for President and doing damage even back then with his nutty crusade to prove President Obama was born in Kenya. That would have been an opportune moment to tell Donald Trump, “We don’t want people like you in our party.”

Unfortunately, it did not happen. Conservative organizations kept inviting him to speak and the GOP as a whole, winked and nodded at the nonsense that spewed from his mouth. You were content to just let him roam free instead of getting him into a cage where he belonged.

That was a big mistake. 

As the last four years have gone by, Republicans were optimistic about 2016 and the prospects in the general election. Everybody knew there would be a good deal of candidates to choose from. A deep field of qualified candidates ready to do the job on day one.

And then there was Donald Trump.

Almost immediately, he started making waves, alluding to third party or independent runs, saying he would make such decisions after determining how “fair” the party was to him.

It was at that moment, Chairman Priebus, you should have said, “Donald, we don’t take kindly to threats around here. If you want to run on another party ticket or run as an independent, go right ahead.” Instead, you flew to New York City (almost as if he summoned you) and had him sign some worthless pledge that for your purposes, was all that was necessary.

Another mistake.

You probably assumed as many of us did, Trump would implode. That he would do or say something so absurd, it would torpedo his candidacy. He did do those things. He did say crazy things. Yet it did not matter. And even if it did, there was nothing you could do about it. You thought your work was done after he signed the pledge.

Now, you want unity. I am sorry sir, but I cannot in good conscience do that. I am not going to unify behind a man who attacks veterans like John McCain and claims to love veterans (by the way, perhaps you can ask Donald about all the money he raised for veterans groups, many of which that still haven’t gotten their money). I will not unify behind a man who flirted with 9/11 conspiracy theorists and blamed President Bush for the 9/11 attacks. I am not going to unify behind  a man who accuses Ted Cruz’s father of being linked to the assassination of a United States President (JFK).

I will not unify behind a man who says women should be punished if they have abortions should they be illegal. I will not unify behind a man who thinks high tariffs and taxes is good for our economy. I will not unify behind a man who refuses to examine the growing problem with Social Security and Medicare. I will not unify behind a man who refuses to defend our greatest Middle East ally, Israel. I refuse to unify behind a man who would have members of our military commit war crimes under the threat of punishment from our Commander In Chief.

The man is an antithesis to all things Republican and conservative. I will not unify behind a man that goes against so much of what I believe in, just because he is the presumptive GOP nominee.

I don’t even know where to begin to tell you what’s wrong with this latest appeal to “Save the RINOs!” but I’m going to try anyway.

First, your subject line. Oddly enough, “Oh no, not again,” is exactly what I always say every time I see one of your “Have Stupidity, Two Presidential Election Losses, Please Help” pleas in my inbox. Even odder still, it’s about the dumbest subject line you could use for an e-mail that despite the not-so-juicy tidbit of gossip and link to yet another useless petition, will ultimately send me to a page asking me to click on whatever amount of money you think I might deign to send you today.

Second, my name is not Laura. It’s not even close to Laura. The fact that I generally don’t want panhandlers to know who I really am in any case is entirely beside the point.

Third, Obama is STILL on the campaign trail, not back on it. He never got off it, except, perhaps, to go golfing. His agenda has long been quite clear to those of us who have been paying attention. Either way, he isn’t going to read your petition, let alone respond to it. There’s nothing in it about White House beer recipes or a Death Star. Those are the kind of issues that command his much-vaunted laser-like focus.

Fourth, why should I send you money when some borderline genius in your outfit recently offered one million to Lady Gaga to do heaven only knows what at the next RNC? How do I know you’re not going to blow my donation on trying to book Honey Boo-Boo, or Doggie Doo-Doo, or TiTi CaCa to class up your next convention?

It’s bad enough the GOP establishment has this mindset that they have to be more like Democrats to win—in which case, if I’m going to vote for a candidate because he’s more like a Democrat, then why not just vote for a Democrat? (It’s like that old Toyota Camry commercial.) But do you have to treat us voters as if you think WE should be more like LIV Democrats—in which case, why don’t we all just become Democrats and embrace that one-party system that has always worked gangbusters elsewhere?

Presumptive GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump on Sunday appeared to nudge his fiscal policies — including those on taxes and the minimum wage — closer to the center ahead of the general election, while downplaying a lack of party support for his candidacy.

Trump suggested on ABC’s “This Week” that his tax plan, which now includes a tax break for the country’s top wage-earners, would likely be different if he becomes president, considering it would likely need support from Dem

ocrats as well as Republicans.

“By the time it gets negotiated, it’s going to be a different plan,” the billionaire businessman said in a pre-taped interview that aired Sunday. “On my plan, [tax rates] are going down. But by the time it’s negotiated, they’ll go up.”

However, Trump also argued that his top priority will be to lower taxes for the middle class, championed by Democratic candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders, and U.S. businesses, which Trump suggested are among the highest taxed in the world.

Whether Trump would even get solid GOP support from Congress remains unclear, considering House Speaker Rep. Paul Ryan is so far withholding his backing, a decision that Trump said this weekend “blindsided” him.

Trump also continued to suggest he’s now open to increasing the minimum wage, after indicating early in the election cycle that such a move would slow the economy.

“I am looking at it,” he said. “I haven’t decided in terms of numbers. But I think people have to get more.”

President Barack Obama's gun control initiative will lead to a modification of the HIPAA Privacy Rule to allow certain covered entities to disclose to the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) the identities of those individuals who, for specific mental health reasons, already are prohibited by federal law from having a firearm.

The information that can be disclosed is the minimum necessary identifying information about individuals who have been involuntarily committed to a mental institution or otherwise have been determined by a lawful authority to be a danger to themselves or others or to lack the mental capacity to manage their own affairs. The Department of Health and Human Services announced that the new modification will preserve the the patient-provider relationship and ensure that individuals are not discouraged from seeking voluntary treatment.

This rule applies only to a small subset of HIPAA covered entities that either make the mental health determinations that disqualify individuals from having a firearm or are designated by their states to report this information to NICS. It also allows these entities to report only limited identifying, non-clinical information to the NICS. Announcement

In an interview that aired Sunday on CBS's "Face the Nation," Trump told host John Dickerson that the nation has "a tremendous mental health problem" that no one is addressing:

"And they should be looking at mental health. We should be build, like, institutions for people that are sickos. We have sickos all over the place. And that's the problem."

Trump said he would "definitely spend more money" on mental health issues.

"Here is the problem," he said. "The bad guys are always going to get the guns. You can have all the restrictions you want. But the bad guys are always going to have the guns."

Trump said he opposes President Obama's plan to issue new executive orders on guns:

"I don't like anything having to do with changing our Second Amendment," he said. "We have plenty of rules and regulations. There's plenty of things that they can do right now that are already there. They don't do them. We have a tremendous mental health problem. We're closing places all over the world. All over the country, they're closing. Nobody is doing anything about that.

"All they want to do is blame the guns. And it's not the gun that pulls the trigger. So, I don't like it. I don't like what he's doing."
