The Hidden Epidemic Exposed: The New Tardive Dyskinesia (TD) Resource Center

madinamerica

First off, Reaching Dr Breggin's site in the Democrat owned State we reside in, ain't happening for us on public WIFI. Here's what accessing it returns us.

Access to the requested site has been restricted due to your organization’s policy.
URL/Content: breggin.com/td-resources-center/
Description: Website contains prohibited Drugs content.
Group Number: X
Ip Address: XX.XXX.XX.XXX

No, Governor, and People's Socialist Workers Party State Legislature, it is Not prohibited content BY Your own rules. It addresses FDA Approved Federal Racketeering Statute Violating 'Medications' (and we gag on using the word 'Medications' since Govt/Industry Sales Hype to the contrary, there is nothing medicinal about the filth).

This is Government using Your money, against you, to cover up its own Criminal Drug Deals.

Dr Breggin's site exposes FDA approved for sale agents of chemical warfare advertised as 'Medications' treating the Symptoms of 'Behaviors' which may OFFEND other people.

Gotta say it, again.

The 1st Amendment guarantees no one any 'Right' to be protected from being Offended.

Screed off. On to Dr Breggin's article.

Tardive dyskinesia is a dreadful disorder caused by all the antipsychotic drugs. Most obviously, it causes disfiguring and sometimes wholly disabling bizarre involuntary movements that afflict any muscles of the body that are normally partially or wholly under voluntary control. This includes the eyes, mouth, tongue, face, arms and legs, fingers and toes, neck and shoulders, and back and torso. It can impair the diaphragm and breathing, the vocal cords and speech, or the esophagus and swallowing. It can cause painful and deforming spasms, often of the neck and shoulders (tardive dystonia). TD can cause a torture-like inner agitation (tardive akathisia) that drives people into psychosis, violence, and suicide. Especially when severe, TD is often associated with cognitive impairments, dementia, and psychosis. People who suffer from it tend to become isolated from society and many become disabled.

The list of newer antipsychotic drugs includes Risperdal (risperidone), Abilify (aripiprazole), Geodon (ziprasidone), Invega (paliperidone), Latuda (lurasidone), Rexulti (brexpiprazole), Risperdal (risperidone), Saphris (asenapine), Seroquel (quetiapine), and Zyprexa (olanzapine). Older antipsychotics include Haldol (haloperidol) and Thorazine (chlorpromazine). All cause TD.

Everything described here is backed by scientific articles easily retrievable on my new Tardive Dyskinesia (TD) Resource Center on www.Breggin.com.

After an individual suffers from TD for more than a few months, the likelihood of recovery becomes very small. There are no effective and safe treatments.

When removed from the drugs, some people with TD improve over time, usually without full recovery. Others develop new symptoms and grow more impaired.

TD can manifest as one or multiple symptoms, varies from day to day, and tends to disappear in sleep. Tension, anxiety and fatigue can temporarily worsen the symptoms, but play no role whatsoever in causing TD.

TD rates for people on antipsychotic drugs are astronomical. In healthy young adults given antipsychotics, the cumulative rate is 5%-8% per year, which builds up to 15% to 24% at 3 years. The rate steadily rises with age, equaling or exceeding a cumulative rate of 25% to 30%per year patients 65 and older. It afflicts children on antipsychotics at rates similar to young adults and can ruin their lives before they get started.

Worse yet, the actual rates are even higher because the patients who are studied are usually taking the antipsychotic drugs at the time of the study, and these drugs mask the symptoms of TD while they are developing.

How many victims are there? In the last few decades, the drug companies and psychiatry have suppressed any estimates. However, we are informed that in 2011, more than 3 million patients were given antipsychotic drugs in the US. With such high rates of TD, we can make a modest estimate that approximately 10% (or 300,000) newly medicated patients will develop tardive dyskinesia each year. (Since many of the patients are in nursing homes, many would have TD rates as high as 30% per year.) Those who stay on the drugs, as many do, will face increasing risks in the future. If we consider the many people living with TD that they incurred years earlier, along with those now approaching a risk reaching 25% to 30% per year, it is certain that many millions of Americans have TD. Probably tens of millions have been afflicted since the drugs first came out in 1954.

Scientific reports first identified tardive dyskinesia in the late 1950s. We must give up hoping that the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the drug companies, or the medical profession will do anything substantial about this growing pandemic. My work, and that of Bob Whitaker and others, has demonstrated that these neurotoxins produce widespread harm and that their demonstrable value approaches nil. Long-term, people on antipsychotic drugs tend to deteriorate physically and mentally. We must continue to educate the public until people begin refusing to submit themselves to the epidemic.

The Tardive Dyskinesia (TD) Resource Center is one more step in the direction of educating the public, as well as the professions. The Tardive Dyskinesia Resource Center offers a simple yet thorough introduction to the drug-induced disorder, a list of offending medications, and illustrative videos. PDFs of about 150 scientific articles are organized by subject such as rates for adults, children and older people; evidence that the newer drugs are as bad as the older ones; studies showing brain damage and cognitive dysfunction, and a dozen more subjects.

Please help to spread the word about this new and entirely free TD resource center.

Wiki has:

Cause

Despite the fact that tardive dyskinesia has existed for over 50 years, its etiology is poorly understood due to the limited research conducted on psychiatric drug side effects. The cause of tardive dyskinesia appears to be related to damage to the system that uses and processes the neurotransmitter dopamine. The most compelling line of evidence suggests that tardive dyskinesia may result primarily from neuroleptic-induced dopamine supersensitivity in the nigrostriatal pathway, with the D2 dopamine receptor being most affected. Neuroleptics act primarily on this dopamine system, and older neuroleptics, which have greater affinity for the D2 binding site, are associated with high risk for tardive dyskinesia. The D2 hypersensitivity hypothesis is also supported by evidence of a dose-response relationship, withdrawal effects, studies on D2 agonists and antagonists, animal studies, and genetic polymorphism research.

Given similar doses of the same neuroleptic individual differences still exist in the likelihood of developing tardive dyskinesia. Such individual differences may be due to genetic polymorphisms, which code for D2 receptor binding site affinity, or prior exposure to environmental toxins. Decreased functional reserve or cognitive dysfunction, associated with aging, mental retardation, alcohol and drug abuse, or traumatic head injuries, has also been shown to increase risk of developing the disorder among those treated with neuroleptics.

The available research seems to suggest that the concurrent prophylactic use of a neuroleptic and an antiparkinsonian drug is useless to avoid early extrapyramidal side-effects and may render the patient more sensitive to tardive dyskinesia. Since 1973 the use of these drugs have been found to be associated with the development of tardive dyskinesia (Crane, 1973). Since some of the symptoms of tardive dyskinesia can be interpreted as schizophrenia by doctors, they may prescribe additional neuroleptic drugs to treat it, leading to increased risk of more prevalent tardive dyskinesia. Several studies have indicated that long-term neuroleptic use is associated with both cognitive deterioration and atrophy of the brain.

Friends "Hey Buddy Can You Spare a Dime?"

Gianna is our friend.

Gianna has been a customer/consumer of 11 milligrams a day of Risperdal.

The $9.3 Billion Dollar Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) has the majority of its Billions invested in Johnson & Johnson: who own Janssen: who Are Risperdal: which netted $4.7 Billion Dollars last year.

William C. Weldon is the $31.9 Million Dollar CEO of Johnson & Johnson.

We are ASKING Robert Wood Johnson IV & William C. Weldon

"Hey Buddy, Can You Spare A Dime?"

But we've got a feeling that neither of them are going to Give a Dime, ..... while they're busying themselves, selling more Risperdal.

Life can change mighty fast…I’m going away
by giannakali

My condition has been getting progressively worse. I no longer am able to do some of the little things I enjoyed like cooking in 5 minute increments with lots of breaks. I now can essentially only get up to go to the bathroom and occasionally I can handle a trip to the fridge or to get a drink of water. I am in constant pain and nausea. I barely eat and have lost 50 lbs. This morning I woke up and I knew I could no longer do this. I have no quality of life. I am 100% dependent on others to meet my needs. It is no longer a tenable existence as long as there are possibilities out there and I do believe there are. I called the same detox center I referred my friend to. I called my mom, dad, sister and cousin all of whom have more money than we do. I now have the cash I need. I’m trying to work things out with the center to take me and my friend as part of the deal. I’m a full paying customer and she can pay whatever amount she manages to fund raise as a down payment. I’m hoping they’ll go for that. So now again I ask for you to help my friend. I believe the odds of getting her in are now increased because I’m going and I’ve had a relationship with the director there for a while.

Please, please help. The more money we have to offer as a down payment the more likely they’ll take her. I’m not sure where we’re at now but I’d say it’s about $1200.

Please NO CAUTIONS about the dangers of detox centers!! NONE. I have done a ton of research and I know the pros and cons. Only good wishes allowed. If you have nasty things to say go tell it to a wall. If you’d prefer to mail a check please ask for my mailing address.

Would you guys like to meet Gianna? You'll like her. Trust us, she's really likeable.

4:12: "And you can laugh at me."

You guys wouldn't laugh at Gianna, would you? You wouldn't like Be laughing at her, would you? Her Friend - who they Really NEED the Money for - would probably Have the money 'cause Gianna and her husband would Pay for her, but Gianna has to be Paid for too.

Oops, Sorry: It couldn't have been Your FDA Safe and Effective Risperdal, Right? Because Your Risperdal is FDA Safe, ..... and Effective, too. It must have been one of your Competitors Drugs, which is responsible for Our Friend's current, uhh, situation. Because Gianna also told us that:
Updated 4/17/09:

I’ve withdrawn from:

84 mg of Concerta

50 mg of Seroquel

200 mg of Zoloft

400 mg of Lamictal

11 mg of Risperdal

I’m working on the final drug now. Klonopin. I’m a bit more than half-way off the 3 mg I was on. It might take another 6 months to a year…not sure!

Psych Drug Nightmares: Part II

Isn't it curious that with Psych Drug Nightmares, the Nightmare itself (which the Drug Caused) is not considered to be a stand alone 'Mental Illness' if that Psychiatric Nightmare is Caused by a Psychiatric Medication?

DSM-IV-TR Billing Code: 307.47: Nightmare Disorder:

Unlike These Incurable Mental Illnesses which Are Also Caused by Psychiatric Medications and which Are Insurance Carrier Billable, as 'Mental Illnesses'.

DSM-IV-TR Billing Code: 332.1 Neuroleptic Induced Parkinsonism

DSM-IV-TR Billing Code: 333.82 Neuroleptic Induced Tardive Dyskinesia

You see; Telling your 'Mental Health' Ideate that you're suffering from Nightmares will open the Cellar door to that Ideate indulging in an orgy of Polypharmacy, including Antipsychotics, to 'Treat' your Nightmares.

And that will allow your Ideate to Upgrade You from mere Temporary Nightmares to the Real Nightmares of Antipsychotic Caused Tardive Dyskinesias and Dystonias, so that your Insurance Carrier will Pay your Ideate, and your Hospital,..... for Your New (25 year shortened) LIFETIME, .... of Psychiatric Nightmares, and Drug Companies Increased Profits.

Online Health News has:

FDA Fails To Check Medical Devices
The Project on Government Oversight (POGO) has called for an investigation into the U.S. FDA’s early laboratory inspections of high-risk medical devices, saying that the agency conducts far too few of them. The watchdog group urged lawmakers to give the FDA more funding to hire and train additional inspectors. FDA records show that early lab inspections dropped from 33 in 2005 to just 1 in 2008. A number of FDA scientists have complained that the agency's Center for Devices and Radiological Health (CDRH) stopped requiring device makers to undergo FDA preclinical lab inspections.

Risperdal: 1 in Every 35/Life Threatening Event Or Hospitalized Event

Journalist Robert Whitaker, via the Freedom of Information Act gained access to FDA data on the drug trials for the Atypicals Risperdal, Seroqual and Zyprexa. Whitaker found that:

Again: Here's what the FDA has labeled "safe and effective." And once again; Thanks to Allen Jones for his Full Whistle Blower Report. (pg 23)

"1. One in every 145 patients who entered the trials died, and yet those deaths were never mentioned in the scientific literature.

2. The trials were structured to favor the Atypicals and most of the study reports were discounted by the FDA as being biased.

3. One in every thirty-five patients in Risperdal trials experienced a serious adverse event, defined by the FDA as a life threatening event or one that required hospitalization.

4. Twenty-two percent of patients in Zyprexa trials suffered serious adverse events

5. The Atypicals did not demonstrate superior effectiveness or safety over Typical antipsychotics.

It is important to note that a drug company does not have to prove that a new drug is safer or more effective than an old drug to gain FDA approval. Essentially, the manufacturer has to demonstrate that the drug is proved to yield better results than placebo in a statistically significant number of patients in short-term trials (6-8 weeks). "

Tardive Dyskinesia Video

The FDA approved, "safety and efficacy", ..... "were established in 4, 6, and 8 week trials", ..... and the "long term effects are unknown", ..... after 15 years of trials.

Tardive means: Late developing

Does it strike you as odd that the moderator in this video is rattling off an Industry Established Numbering System for these particular long term effects - of Atypical Antipsychotics - but somehow the FDA - holding its own $500 Million Conflict of Interest - Still claims the long term effects are "Unknown"?

FDA: Dr. Mike's 1997 Model "Gold Standard" Johnson

DR. Michael A. Friedman was FDA Deputy Commisioner for Operations in 1997. Here's his testimony to the US Senate Committee On Labor and Human Resources from March 19, 1997.

paragraph 2:

"Because of the protections in the food and drug laws, and the Agency's implementation of those laws, Americans do not have to worry about the safety or effectiveness of literally thousands of products they use every day, from breakfast cereal to pain relievers, from contact lenses to vaccines."

Yeah, Sure. That's why those FDA Approved Psych Poisons have got their Makers in Court all over Hell's/America's half acre today.

paragraph 3:

"An important measure of our value as an Agency, and of our success at fulfilling our mission to promote and protect the public health, ...... It is a measure by which, I believe, we have done very well."

Done very Well? For WHO, ..... beside Yourself, Pharma and the American Funeral Directors Assc.

paragraph 5:

"We recognize that the industries we regulate have important contributions to make, .... "

Yes they Do. $500 Million Dollars worth, .... directly into FDAs "safe and effective" hot little hands.

"We heard from the members of this Committee and others in Congress that there were problems in how we do our job, ..... "

And you're Still hearing about them, and OUR Crystal Ball says today's FDA is going to being Hearing One Hell of a Lot MORE about them, ..... which is WHY FDA is currently pushing for Preemption, to run cover for its buddies in Pharma.

paragraph 7:

"The Agency has focused on approval times, and as I will describe today, we have seen real results. We know much remains to be done. Just as we are continuing to work with industry, ..... "

II. IMPROVING PRODUCT REVIEW TIMES

A. HUMAN DRUG REVIEWS AND APPROVALS

No area of FDA's responsibility has been more closely scrutinized by Congress, industry, health professionals and the public than the approval process for new drugs, or more specifically, the speed with which new therapies of proven effectiveness and safety are made available to those who need them. For years there has been public discussion of the so-called "drug lag," the concern that new therapies were consistently being approved in Europe more quickly than in the United States. Today we are approving drugs in time periods that are as fast or faster than any country in the world with a comparable system of patient protection. And we are doing it while maintaining the standards for safety and efficacy that make FDA approval the gold standard for the world.

Check our links on Psych Poison Adverse Reactions Reported To The FDA, and then You, Dear Reader, decide whether the FDA's "gold standard" might not be more accurately described as "Barnyard Gold".

US CONSTITUTION

Amendment VIII

TARDIVE DYSKINESIA VIDEO OF AN ACTUAL EPISODE

Watch the VIDEO, ..... MIKE, and pat yourself on the back, for helping to assure that these "safe and effective" public health "breakthroughs" which you have "Done very well" to see speedily approved through "Working with Industry" continue to "Reach the Public" and aren't caught up in any unnecessary, regulatory, profit impairing delays.

Then explain to us just what HEINOUS CRIME this woman committed, which allowed some FDA approved Dope Dealing Psychic to toss her VIII Amendment right out the window, and CONSIGN THIS WOMAN, to a LIVING HELL, for THE REST OF HER LIFE? But WTF difference would the VIII Amendment make; when Psychiatry - with every Writ of Execution it Exudes - violates the ENTIRE BILL OF RIGHTS?

Folks; Once You've been prescribed Psych meds, you have to go somewhere to Buy them, and keep going back there to Keep buying them, because they CURE NOTHING, except your Doktor, your DRUG CO Stockholder, and your Pharmacist's, ..... personal piles of bills.

Businesswire.com has Dr. Mike joining the California Healthcare Institute Board. Here we learn that: "He helped to streamline the FDAs review and approval process and provided oversight of evaluations for drugs, biologics, medical devices and food ingredients."

Does that mean that Dr. Mike's "help" might win AstraZeneca FDA approval of their - 8,787 lawsuits with 13,000 injured and DEAD complainants - Seroquel for treating "General Anxiety Disorder"?

Tardive Dyskinesia

In Psych Lit. Tardive Dyskinesias are euphemistically written up as 'symptoms'. Symptoms don't manifest themselves as measurable, observable phenomena on their own. Symptoms point to underlying damage/pathology. Central Nervous System/Brain Damage is the cause of externally observable Tardive Dyskinesias.

Do these people look like their 'Mental Health' has been improved? Do these people look like their quality of life has been improved?

Imagine if you will, someone slipping a nightly dose of some highly toxic substance into another person's dinner, and over time observing the victim's muscular twitches and malfunctions as the victim's Brain is attacked and progressively deteriorates. Bear in mind that this conduct occurs every day in America. It's not a TV crime thriller. Telly Savalas, Gene Barry, or Tom Selleck aren't going to come to the rescue.

Antipsychotic 'medications' are such a toxic substance. Antipsychotic 'medications' are daily inflicted - by the Millions in return for $ Billions - on children, the elderly, and people of all ages. Antipsychotic 'medications' produce the Brain damage that manifests itself to our view as 'Tardive Dyskinesias'.

Would You want to have to wear these contortions, in public, if the rest of you could even get out in public?
