FDA Approved Ads Misinform Patients About Antipsychotics And Motor Dysfunction

Food and Drug Administration-approved information and public advertisements frequently mislead the public about the actual neurodegenerative risks from second-generation antipsychotics, according to an article in the American Journal of Public Health.
Frederick Jacobsen, a clinical professor of psychiatry at the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences, reviewed information materials put out by the FDA about second-generation antipsychotics (SGAs), and found that these materials routinely misrepresented the serious potential for neurological damages and tardive syndromes such as tardive dyskinesia -- a permanent, Parkinson's-like motor dysfunction that can be caused at high rates by long-term use of antipsychotic drugs.
"Package inserts label tardive syndromes 'potentially reversible' while uniformly omitting patient counseling for long-term neurodegenerative side effects," stated Jacobsen. "I have documented that package insert sections of all SGAs approved for affective illnesses in the United States ignore or minimize tardive syndromes. Patient Counseling Information omits reference to tardive dyskinesia, signifying that physicians do not need to discuss long-term neurotoxicity with patients, whereas Medication Guides shift responsibility for knowledge and recognition of these potentially irreversible side effects back to patients. Current SGA media advertisements suggest a likelihood of remedy for this chronic neurotoxicity absent informed consent."
"Patients deserve better information and education regarding the long-term side effects of SGAs, particularly tardive syndromes, in FDA-approved package inserts, media advertisements, and elsewhere," concluded Jacobsen.

There Are NO Proven Psychosocial Therapies That Reduce Self-Harming In Teens

Another FAIL from the Collectivist, Junk Medical wing  of America's Political Collectivist Fraudsters.

There are no psychosocial treatments or psychotherapeutic methods that are proven to effectively reduce thoughts and behaviors of self-harm in youth, according to a review of the scientific literature by a team of Harvard University psychologists publishing in the Journal of Clinical Child & Adolescent Psychology.
The researchers identified 29 studies published before June of 2013 that examined treatment interventions for suicidal or self-injurious thoughts and behaviors in children or adolescents. They then evaluated the studies using the evidence-based treatment evaluation criteria of the Journal of Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology. They found that not a single intervention met the Level 1 standard for "well-established treatments."
However, six types of treatment were found to be "probably efficacious" or "possibly efficacious" for reducing self-injurious thoughts and behaviors. "These treatments came from a variety of theoretical orientations," noted the researchers, "including cognitive-behavioral, family, interpersonal, and psychodynamic theories."
Since none of these methods were better than the others, the researchers speculated that the relative efficacy they did have was likely due to common elements among them. For example, most of the different therapeutic strategies involved skills training such as problem solving and emotional regulation, targeted interpersonal relationship dynamics, and included families in the therapy sessions. The strategies also tended to be relatively "intensive," in that they involved multiple meetings per week with therapists.

Communist Party USA Chairman Vows To Work With Democratic Party To Advance Communist Goals

Via Daily Caller:

The chairman of the National Committee of the Communist Party USA has penned a 2,023-word manifesto making the critical point that American Communists are eager to work with the Democratic Party to advance the modern communist agenda and achieve communist goals.
Communist Party chairman John Bachtell published his essay last week at People’s World, a “daily news website of, for and by the 99% and the direct descendant of the Daily Worker.”
“[L]abor and other key social forces are not about to leave the Democratic Party anytime soon,” Bachtell promised. “They still see Democrats as the most realistic electoral vehicle” to fight against perceived class enemies.
Bachtell, 58, is playing the long political game and he has a strategy, he said.
“First, we are part of building the broadest anti-ultra right alliance possible, uniting the widest array of class (including a section of monopoly), social and democratic forces. This necessarily means working with the Democratic Party,” the communist leader explained.
“Second, our objective is not to build the Democratic Party. At this stage we are about building the broad people’s movement led by labor that utilizes the vehicle of the Democratic Party to advance its agenda,” Bachtell further expounded. “We are about building the movements around the issues roiling wide sections of people that can help shape election contours and debates.”
“[W]e are for building movements in the electoral arena and see engagement in the electoral arena and democratic governance as a vital means to further build movements,” Bachtell also said.
Thank You Daily Caller and Zip.

Pennsylvania Celebrates Diversity! Dem Governor Appoints Transgender Doctor To Be State's Next Physician General

With the governor’s office claiming it has nothing to do with her being a transgender…. I know, stop laughing.
Via Newsmax:
A transgender physician will soon become Pennsylvania’s new physician general, the Washington Blade reported.
Dr. Rachel Levine, an expert in adolescent eating disorders and behavior health, was nominated for the Commonwealth’s highest medical post by progressive Gov. Tom Wolf.
She made her transition from man to woman five years ago, and with her appointment will become “the highest-ranking transgender person to ever hold a position within state government,” the Blade said.
Levine graduated from Harvard College and Tulane University Medical School, and has practiced pediatrics and psychiatry for about three decades, PennLive reported. She has been a physician at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center since 1996 and also serves as a professor of pediatrics and psychiatry at the Penn State College of Medicine, the website site.
The governor’s spokesman said Levine was chosen because of her expertise, not because she is transgender, The American Mirror reported.
“Dr. Rachel Levine is well-respected in the fields of pediatrics, psychiatry, and behavioral health, where she has practiced for close to three decades,” the governor said in statement about her selection.
Thank You Zip and Newsmax

You'd hope, but of course it would be a false hope, that the people who appointed Rachel would have done their homework on the "Mental Health" of Transgenders before they put her/him into the post of State's Physician General, who, unless we're mistaken, will have Something to do with shelling out Millions of OPM to Diagnose and Treat other people to a dose of "Mental Health".

California School Allows Two Planned Parenthood Workers To Teach Students Sex-Ed: Shocked That One Is A Sex Toy Instructor, Another A "Pleasure Activist"

It’s called “Google,” you should try it sometime.
Via Daily Mail:
Parents with students at one California high school recently learned that two Planned Parenthood employees who taught their impressionable children sex education also held down some controversial side jobs.
One of the sex-ed instructors at Acalanes Union High School in Lafayette also taught a class on sex toys at a nearby shop while the other identified herself as a ‘pleasure activist’ on her now-deleted Twitter profile.
The job history of the two teachers was revealed after parents learned about the school’s partnership with Planned Parenthood and demanded the curriculum be changed.
Some of the parents felt that Planned Parenthood, an organization that provides complimentary reproductive and women’s health services, was actually encouraging their children to start having sex.
Thank You Daily Mail and Zip.

But, but, "Mental Health". It's "For The Children!"

Yeah, and the only thing in the way of condemning every child in SF and turning them into brain damaged drug addicts was the Horror that the State's Medi-Cal program wouldn't pay them for it.

U.S. Attorney Gen. Nominee Loretta Lynch: Illegal Aliens Have Just As Much Right To Work As Citizens Do

Via Breitbart:
President Barack Obama’s nominee to replace Eric Holder as Attorney General of the United States, Loretta Lynch, said on Wednesday during a Senate Judiciary Committee confirmation hearing that she thinks illegal aliens have the same right to work in America as American citizens do.
“Senator, I believe the right and the obligation to work is one that is shared by everyone in this country, regardless of how they came here,” Lynch said when asked by Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL) who has a greater right to work: Illegal aliens, or lawful immigrants and American citizens?
“Certainly, if someone is here—regardless of status—I would prefer that they be participating in the workplace than not participating in the workplace,” Lynch said.
She also said she doesn’t believe that Obama’s executive action on immigration is an “amnesty.”
Thank You Breitbart and Mr Stone.

How much would you like to bet that the Republicans won't even bat an eye over this, but just confirm her anyway?

Wouldn't want to go upsetting those Chamber of Commerce Campaign Donors.

Senator Feinstein's Husband To Make A $Billion From Govt Deal

And you wonder how it is, that this entire Mental/Political Disease Industry is still on its feet.

Public servant.
Via NY Post:
Ever wonder how lowly paid lawmakers leave office filthy rich?
Sen. Dianne Feinstein is showing how it’s done.
The US Postal Service plans to sell 56 buildings — so it can lease space more expensively — and the real estate company of the California senator’s husband, Richard Blum, is set to pocket about $1 billion in commissions.
Blum’s company, CBRE, was selected in March 2011 as the sole real estate agent on sales expected to fetch $19 billion. Most voters didn’t notice that Blum is a member of CBRE’s board and served as chairman from 2001 to 2014.
This feat of federal spousal support was ignored by the media after Feinstein’s office said the senator, whose wealth is pegged at $70 million, had nothing to do with the USPS decisions.
When the national debt is $18 trillion, a billion seems like small change.

Thank You NY Post and Nickarama.

University of California Again: EPA Tested Deadly Air Pollutants On Children As Young As 10

[Ed; Business As Usual]
A government watchdog group has obtained documents detailing how the EPA exposed children as young as 10 to deadly air pollutants without disclosing the full risks of the substances.
Government watchdogs say these EPA-backed studies could violate California state and federal law, because children were exposed to diesel exhaust in experiments with no health benefits to the subjects.
Between 2003 and 2010, the EPA backed experiments done at the University of Southern California and the University of California, Los Angeles that exposed children aged 10 to 15 to diesel exhaust — an air pollutant which the EPA and the California Air Resources Board says has no safe exposure limit.

Thank You DC and Mr Stone.

Love those 'Medical Ethics'.

You owe it to yourself to click through and read the whole Daily Caller Report.

Then call Senator Mitch McConnell's office and tell him that yes, you do want him to follow through and clean up the EPA as the new Republican controlled Senate's 1st order of business

Senator Mitch McConnell Says His Top Priority Is To 'Get The EPA Reined In'.

Who is in charge of this University system this week, anyway?

And what are they busy with?

Imagine Obama Running Your Internet The Way He's Run Your Health Care/Insurance: GOP Understandably Upset

President Obama’s call for more cities and towns to create their own broadband Internet services to compete with private companies like Comcast is meeting stiff opposition from many Republicans.
Unlike the president's previous proposals this week to bulk up U.S. cybersecurity and protect Americans’ identities online — which were largely welcomed on Capitol Hill — he waded into hotly partisan waters on Wednesday by unveiling a plan to eliminate state laws limiting local government-run Web connections
Republicans were swift to denounce the president on Wednesday, as he spoke in Cedar Falls, Iowa — a town that has created its own municipally-owned broadband Internet provider.
"In Tennessee we have a term to describe people like President Obama — tone-deaf,” Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) said in a statement.
“At a time when Americans think the biggest problem facing our nation today is big government, you would think he'd have gotten the message by now,” she added. “We don't need unelected bureaucrats like FCC [Federal Communications Commission] Chairman Tom Wheeler dictating to our states what they can and can't do with respect to protecting their limited taxpayer dollars and private enterprises.”
In 19 states, there are laws on the books limiting local governments from building out their own municipal Internet services.
The FCC has been asked by two cities — in North Carolina and in Tennessee — to override those laws. Obama on Wednesday urged the FCC to do just that.
“I’m on the side of competition,” Obama said during his speech at a Cedar Falls utility plant.
Supporters of the move say that it would help create more competition for broadband service, and many Democrats cheered Obama’s call. According to the FCC, more than half the country has just one option for high-speed broadband Internet service with download speeds of 25 Mbps or higher.
Critics, however, say that it would amount to Washington intervention in local laws.
Sen. Deb Fischer (R-Neb.), who worked on laws to limit municipal broadband networks when she was in the state legislature, accused Obama of advancing a “Washington-centric” approach that would “set a dangerous precedent and have real impacts on local communities and businesses.”
The FCC will vote on the request to preempt state laws in North Carolina and Tennessee at its meeting next month.
Both Republicans on the five-member commission blasted Obama’s call on Tuesday, likely setting the stage for a narrow vote along party lines.
