Nightmare Disorder From 23 Different Drugs

23 Noxious Psych Drugs All Induce Nightmares

criteria for:
DSM-IV-TR Billing Code: 307.47: Nightmare Disorder

(cautionary statement)

A. Repeated awakenings from the major sleep period or naps with detailed recall of extended and extremely frightening dreams, usually involving threats to survival, security, or self-esteem. The awakenings generally occur during the second half of the sleep period.

B. On awakening from the frightening dreams, the person rapidly becomes oriented and alert (in contrast to the confusion and disorientation seen in Sleep Terror Disorder and some forms of epilepsy).

C. The dream experience, or the sleep disturbance resulting from the awakening, causes clinically significant distress or impairment in social, occupational, or other important areas of functioning.

D. The nightmares do not occur exclusively during the course of another mental disorder (e.g., a Delirium, Posttraumatic Stress Disorder) and are not due to the direct physiological effects of a substance (e.g., a drug of abuse, a medication) or a general medical condition.

Check them out, if you like, under their listings of Direct Adverse Reactions reported to FDA Medwatch from Jan 2004 - Dec 2006.

All 23 have Nightmare listed with the Drug itself as the Primary Causative Agent.

Paxil also lists Nymphomania as a Direct Effect, and Risperdal has at least One reported instance of 'Amputation of Penis'.

There's a marriage made in 'Mental Health' that Only Psychiatry could, ..... Sell even More Kickbacked Nightmares to.

If you plead Paxil for Psychiatrist Induced Nymphomania, make sure you get a New Diagnosis of Adult ADHD along with it.

That way, with your Nymphomania, you might also enjoy Ritalin's 'Abortion Spontaneous' and 'Apathy' too: for the Perfect, Best Practice Industry Funding can Buy, CME BS Carpet Bombed Evidence Based Nightmare your life is Certain to become.

Hey, Susan;

Notice that under sec D the DSM claims it's not Billable as a real Nightmare Disorder if the Nightmares are medication induced.

A Psychiatrist Induced Screwup that is Not Billable?

In your Dreams.

Bunky,

I am more worried about if i start talking about nymphomania brought on by drugs with some of the male shrinks I have seen, they might say

"Lets examine this further. Wanna see my 'cigar'?"

You couldn't possibly be hinting at a 'Violation Of A Sexual Boundary Issue' which would qualify them for Rehabilitation from the ranks of the 'Incurably Mentally Ill' could you?

DSM-IV-TR Billing Code: 305.10
Nicotine Dependence

But then again; he might just be showing you his cigar as part of his "Sell Our Drugs" Funded Bio-$cientific Diagnostic Workup.
