Only about one in four people who enrolled in a health insurance plan through theObamacare exchange were previously uninsured, according to a new report byMcKinsey. The number may be even lower for those who have paid.

The consulting firm found that just 26 percent of those who selected new 2014 Affordable Care Act plans on the exchanges were uninsured prior to their enrollment.

The Manhattan Institute’s Avik Roy concludes that when factoring in those that have actually paid thus far, the percentages goes down to about 22 percent, whichcomes out to approximately 1.7 million enrollees out of the administration’s celebrated 8 million figure.
