Texting, Psych Meds, CRS, and Blood Sucking Leeches

Texting? As an Incurable Mental Illness?

Apparently it's in the pipe, scheduled for inclusion in Psychiatry's DSM-V.

Between 2004-2006 the FDA received reports attributing the Antidepressant Paxil/Seroxat as the prime causative agent in the death by suicide of 841 people, attempted suicide by another 495 people, and 54 people who were Treated to a dose of 'Mental Health' via this chemical agent, going off and MURDERING other people. How many of those responsible for poisoning those 841 people to DEATH and sending another 54 of them off [after Billing Them] to commit MURDERS, [based on Billable OPINIONS] have been brought to trial? Does anyone have the actual numbers?

But to be equitable; Let's suppose that You - Mr. or Ms. Patient - truly find the stuff to be a Bag Of Sunshine. You were down. Your boss was a jerk, [and still is] your love life sucked, and there was absolutely Nothing on TV. You had the Blues worse than Anybody's Ever had the blues.

So your Doctor set you up with these magic pills, and they Worked. And they're Still working, Beating Your Blues, because you don't Dare even Think about getting off them, because every time you Try to get off them, you get these horrible shocking pains, and these terrifying, overwhelming urges to join those other 841 SUICIDES, in the graveyard.

If the Behavioral Scientist who got you addicted to those Blues Busters had actually Told You about all those suicides and murders before that BS-er set you up for a lifetime of electric shocks and russian roulette, ..... to feed their Own face, well then, ..... we'd be as shocked as many of the people trying to get off of Paxil are.

Lately, we've been reading again and again that it's the Drug Cos. fault, because the Drug Cos. have been Misleading the bribe taking Physician/Psychiatrists about the safety and efficacy of their drugs/poisons, and those same Physician/Psychiatrists are so GD gullible, that they can't even smell sales horse s**t on a hot day from 10 feet downwind.

1: Why the Hell are the rest of us paying - through Drug Co. profits that are landing those Drug Cos. in Court left and right for Medicare and Medicaid Fraud - for those gullible Doctors continuing medical education? CME that's paid for by those same Drug Cos?

2: If those Doctors truly are that gullible: Why the Hell are they allowed to continue to practice medicine at all?

3: How many years of tax payer subsidized education at tax payer funded Universities does it take to become a Psychiatrist? And What in the Hell were they learning there in all those years, that left them expecting the Rest of us to buy Their line that they were completely bamboozled by a Drug Co. sales rep. and that somehow lets them off the hook?

But yet Psychiatrists expect us to believe that they are so brilliant that they are actually Psychic, and can See into another persons mind, using a computer tabulated diagnosis based partly on a check list checked off by a non-Psychiatrist in a Diagnostic Interview with someone they have Never met before, lasting all of 7 minutes.

Horse S**t ain't all this stinks of. In the 18th century such arrant poltroonery was told right to its face: "That It Stinks Cursed Strong Of The Hangman."

Phlebotomy and CRS

As recently as 1840 physicians ascribed all manner of real, physical ailments, or just plain old "Having The Blues" to the influence of bad blood, or too much blood. They applied leeches to the ailing patient to suck the blood out of them. Those blood suckers Themselves were for centuries referred to as leeches.

When someone fell ill the cry went out, "Send for a Leech!"

Wikipedia offers an introductory course under "Bloodletting"

"[Vivisectionist] William Harvey disproved the basis of the practice in 1628, and the introduction of scientific medicine, la méthode numérique, allowed Pierre Charles Alexandre Louis to demonstrate that phlebotomy was entirely ineffective in the treatment of pneumonia and various fevers in the 1830s. Nevertheless, in 1840 a lecturer at the Royal College of Physicians would still state that "blood-letting is a remedy which, when judiciously employed, it is hardly possible to estimate too highly" and Louis was dogged by the sanguinary Broussais, who could recommend leeches fifty at a time.

Bloodletting was used to treat almost every disease. One British medical text recommended bloodletting for acne, asthma, cancer, cholera, coma, convulsions, diabetes, epilepsy, gangrene, gout, herpes, indigestion, insanity, jaundice, leprosy, ophthalmia, plague, pneumonia, scurvy, smallpox, stroke, tetanus, tuberculosis, and for some one hundred other diseases. Bloodletting was even used to treat most forms of hemorrhaging such as nosebleed, excessive menstruation, or hemorrhoidal bleeding. Before surgery or at the onset of childbirth, blood was removed to prevent inflammation. Before amputation it was customary to remove a quantity of blood equal to the amount believed to circulate in the limb that was to be removed.[4]

"Leeches became especially popular in the early nineteenth century. Through the 1830s the French imported about forty million leeches a year for medical purposes, and in the next decade, England imported six million leeches a year from France alone. Through the early decades of the century, hundreds of millions of leeches were used by physicians throughout Europe.[5]

Example: One typical course of medical treatment began the morning of 13 July 1824. A French sergeant was stabbed through the chest while engaged in single combat; within minutes he fainted from loss of blood. Arriving at the local hospital he was immediately bled twenty ounces (570 ml) "to prevent inflammation". During the night he was bled another 24 ounces (680 ml). Early next morning the chief surgeon bled the patient another 10 ounces (285 ml); during the next 14 hours he was bled five more times. Medical attendants thus intentionally removed more than half of the patient's normal blood supply - in addition to the initial blood loss which caused the sergeant to faint. Bleedings continued over the next several days. By 29 July the wound had become inflamed. The physician applied 32 leeches to the most sensitive part of the wound. Over the next three days there were more bleedings and a total of 40 more leeches. The sergeant recovered and was discharged on 3 October. His physician wrote that "by the large quantity of blood lost, amounting to 170 ounces [nearly eleven pints] (4.8 liters), besides that drawn by the application of leeches [perhaps another two pints] (1.1 liter), the life of the patient was preserved". By ninteenth-century standards, thirteen pints of blood taken over the space of a month was a large but not an exceptional quantity. The medical literature of the period contains many similar accounts-some successful, some not.[6]

Bloodletting was also popular in the young United States of America, where Benjamin Rush (a signatory of the Declaration of Independence) saw the state of the arteries as the key to disease, recommending levels of blood-letting that were high, even for the time. George Washington was treated in this manner following a horseback riding accident: almost 4 pounds (1.7 litres) of blood was withdrawn, contributing to his death by throat infection in 1799."

APA Icon Benjamin Rush, Again?

And even before Harvey in 1628 Wiki tells of This absolutely astounding fellow.

Ibn al-Nafis, 1213CE-1288CE, "is most famous for being the first physician to describe the pulmonary circulation, and the capillary and coronary circulations, which form the basis of the circulatory system, for which he is considered the father of circulatory physiology and "the greatest physiologist of the Middle Ages."

George Washington, murdered, in 1799 by Blood Sucking Leeches, even after Ibn al-Nafis and William Harvey.

61 Million prescriptions for Antidepressants in 2001. There's so much of the stuff in our streams, lakes and ground water that the EPA has officially noted it as an Environmental Contaminant, ..... and Institutionalized Psychiatry Still can't SELL 'Incurable' condemnations and even More world wrecking Psych Meds fast enough.

Col. David Hackworth [Wiki] once quipped that the US Pentagon was always preparing to re-fight some previous war, and suffered from CRS [Can't Remember S**t] Syndrome.

Just how far into Real Science's rear view mirror Was this CRS afflicted Blood Sucking Leech Benjamin Rush charging?

Schizophrenic Fish Sought As Invaluable Investigator Resource, Send Money

61 Million prescriptions were written for antidepressants in 2001. Just How depressed Are we? And How effective is this stuff at subduing depression/aggression?

Frogs And Fish, according to This article, and This article, are having problems from their trace antidepressant environmental Contamination.

Human beings are killing themselves and being killed by other human beings from antidepressant Treatment delivered for money by our National Socialist Mental Health Industry as listed at ssristories.com, psychdrugdangers.com, and numerous other sites and articles.

Here, is a suggested Lab Investigation for Contaminating fish with Prozac, and we commend this piece for Honestly reporting its course.

This Investigation claims that Acute [short term] Prozac contamination diminishes aggressive displays, whereas Chronic [long term] contamination does not.

The Fido Prozac [Reconcile] trials reportedly ended at 8 weeks - while the Prozac was still working [except in Greater than 1% of the trial dogs. WTF does Greater than 1% mean? 10%, 20%, 50%, or 90%?] - and not at 8 months when the cumulative adverse effects of chronic, addictive contamination might have had Contaminated German Shepherds unable to decide whether to sprint headfirst into a wall, puke/crap their guts out, or sink their teeth into the nearest Investigator.

Now of course your merely Prozac contaminated fish aren't fully Schizophrenic, Yet. It's too early in their Lifelong Contamination Regimen, because antidepressants can be an express elevator PLUMMET INTO HELL to kick, and once you've started your fish on antidepressants, it would be an unconscionably inhumane and sadistic enterprise to TORTURE them through detox. So, ..... You'll need to FUND and Clinically Investigate your fish clean through an entire buffet of other Antidepressants and Antipsychotics first: in your tax FUNDED University Fish Lab.

And of course a lot of your fish Will Seize Up and DIE on you, before degenerating into DSM-able textbook Schizophrenics, so you'll need plenty of fish in order to reel in those big Govt, private Charitable Foundation, and Drug Co. FUNDING BUCKS you'll need to continue your ground breaking Investigations into inducing Schizophrenia, .... in fish.

This FUNDING aspect of your Investigation is CRUCIAL and MUST BE your #1 PRIME OBJECTIVE, sadly, even Over your actual Investigations. You MUST HIRE full time Advocates to write GRANT, AWARD, and other FUNDING APPLICATIONS, between Advocating on the phones with other Advocates at DRUG CO. FUNDED Govt. Advocacy Organizations for the 'Mentally Ill' , private Charitable Foundations, and the Antidepressant Manufacturers FUNDING their own product's Investigations, who also operate the first 2 FUNDING sources as store fronts. All of these Advocates also need to be FUNDED, to Advocate for even MORE FUNDING to hire more Advocates, for your further fishy Investigations.

But take heart. You Will net those BIG FUNDING BUCKS. Just shuffle through the motions and fill out the paperwork, Because , .....

Just like all of those 'Mentally Ill' 1st Amendment Violators being FORCIBLY DRUGGED, BEATEN, SHOCKED, RAPED, and KILLED by EVERYONE ELSE's MONEY in TAX FUNDED State Mental Hospitals right on into those 1st Amendment Violator's premature by decades Psychiatrically Investigated 'Mentally Healthy' graves, ..... to justify Institutionalized Psychiatry's heavenly individual Investigator, State University Psychiatry Department, Community Mental Health Clinic, and Public School Guidance Counselor Dope Pushers Gopher TAX FUNDED BUDGETS, .....

Your, initial Investigational fish die off - no matter How many of them you kill - if not unforeseen was certainly swept under the rug [Animal Rights Activists are No fun when aroused] and FUNDED in your initial and subsequent tax disbursing Federal Dept. of Education kick downs to your State Dept. of Education kick downs to FUND/Dictate the currently in vogue, politically correct curricula of your University, ..... after raking off Their OWN shares of your FUNDS to FUND themselves to redistribute your labor/indentured servitude, to Teen Screen Drug/Brain Damage your own niece and nephew.

And even if you Never produce a Clinically Opinion verifiable Schizophrenic fish which conforms to the DSM letter criteria for full blown Schizophrenia, Who cares? Just condemn your fish and serve it up in your requests for ADDITIONAL FUNDING as Schizophrenic NOS - Not Otherwise Specified. You'll Still get the money. If NOS constitutes sufficient grounds to FUND Investigating PEOPLE to DEATH with this stuff, why not fish?

FINDINGS

Prozac as a thought restraint has lousy long term efficacy in aquarium fish.

The tax-payer funded Fish Lab Investigative Prozacers were to be cautioned to wear gloves when Investigating contaminated fish from their Prozac contaminated tanks.

CONCLUSIONS

Prozac's efficacy - after its initial whack - sucks, in fish brains.

Human brains are vastly more complex than fish brains.

The Human Brains directing the Contamination of aquarium fish and tanks with Prozac NEED VERBAL REMINDING of the need for CHEMICAL PROOF GLOVES to AVOID the DANGER of 'Mental Healthing' Themselves with Prozac.

SUMMARY

In any school We know of there's a Time limit to complete tests and turn them in for grading. How many more years full of thousands of dead people - Every Year - are the rest of us expected to tolerate, while funding Psychiatrists to Clinically Re-Investigate their tax funded fishing excursions right through the already documented, all too tragic obvious inherent in their Contaminating Treatment of other people?

Govt. Programs Cure Everyone, Except The Patient

Cal. Diversion Program for Drunken or Drug addicted Dentists and Dental Assistants.

DSM-IV-TR Billing Code 303.00: Alcohol Intoxication
DSM-IV-TR Billing Code 292.89: Amphetamine Intoxication

Why are these Dental DSM-ables being [Cal BPC sec 1698 (a)(b)] Rehabilitated back into Your mouth with hypodermics, high speed drills, needle pics, and scrapers, when the DSM-IV-TR qualifies them as 'Incurably Mentally Ill'?

This Govt. Program states that 'DSM-able as Incurably Mentally Ill' Dental workers may Complete their Rehabilitation [with subsequent destruction of the records Of their Rehabilitation], as overseen by Diversion Committees of "3 dentists, 1 dental auxiliary, 1 physician or psychologist, and 1 public member who have experience or knowledge in the field of chemical dependency."

Dentists and Dental assistants are not subject to relapse? Because Govt. says they've been successfully rehabilitated?..... unlike You, who Don't have a Patient Diversion Program/Lobby/get out of mental illness 5th Ace up Your sleeve?

The 1804-1806 Lewis and Clark Expeditioners were lavishly entertained by Native American lovelies as they crossed North America 2 centuries ago: so lavishly entertained that they were repeatedly infected with syphilis, and repeatedly dosed with large pills known as Dr. Rush's Thunder Clappers. Dr. Benjamin Rush today adorns the American Psychiatric Association's crest.

Dr. Rush's Thunder Clapper cure all included mercurous chloride.

Haberdashers had been working felt into hats, with mercury, since at least the 17th century, and the effects of mercury poisoning were known in Psychiatric Icon Benjamin Rush's day.

IAOMT.ORG [International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology] has a fascinating video trailer called "Smoking Teeth = Poison Gas".

Mercury Poisoning Symptoms

But You [the Non-Dental/Physician/Psychiatrist] are 'Incurably Mentally Ill' as attested to in a Financially Conflicted Consensus of DSM Opinion. It couldn't possibly have anything to do with the grossly Profitable, grossly Financially Conflicted Health Care Industry itself, could it?

Doc Diversion In Cal, 5 Audits? 5 Strikes

DIVERSION PROGRAM FAILS TO KEEP PUBLIC SAFE
[Ed: unfortunately That link's no longer good, BUT, as of Nov 9, 2011;]

Anderson Cooper 360 Still has the story - from 2008 - for you.
"In California, the state Medical Board is planning to shut down the program as of July because it’s decided it “failed” to protect patients. Five audits of the program since 1982 found all kinds of failures. Even the drug testing of doctors wasn’t random. One auditor told me the doctors could anticipate on which days they’d be drug tested.

Still, even after all the patients who say they were disfigured as a result of this program, one powerful state agency, the California Medical Association, is fighting to keep the program running, and keep the names of doctors enrolled confidential. The association’s President, Joe Dunn, told me, “we believe very strongly this is the absolute best way to insure patient safety. We need to get physicians out of the shadows.”
Dunn believes if the program is shut down in July, doctors will still continue to feed their addiction “privately” and not get help. He argues, “Without a diversion program, no one knows. Patients don't know. Health professionals who could help don't know.”

5 Independent Audit's of California's Physician Diversion Program, and 5 failing grades.

10% of the 2004 Doctors qualifying for Rehab, were previous 'Successful Graduates', and as noted: with no post rehab follow up, the State, And Consumers, don't know whether their drunk/doper Doc is staying clean and sober, or their self indulgent drunk/doper Doc has died from a self indulgent Overdose.

Cal's Docs not only beat the DSM rap the First time, but 10% of them took a SECOND free grab at the brass ring [license retention].

The Cal State tax payers pumped another $500,000 into the bilge pumps on this sinker, and like the Titanic, butt covering farce it is, it's Still going down.

Being strung out on Booze or Drugs is a DSM offence: You're incurably 'Mentally Ill'.

Lying becomes an all pervasive way of life, if you want a job even driving a taxi. You Now qualify for a lifetime of Treatment [read Re-Diagnosis and Further Condemnation along 5 DSM axis] and Medications: on Psychiatric medications which own an FDA record of turning people into cripples, corpses, and killers.

For 27 years Doctors in Cal haven't had to worry, about Lying, just to get a job driving a taxi, because this Diversion fiasco has been allowing them to successfully Complete their program of Rehabilitation, and return to work, as Surgeons and Psychiatrists, with no post cure follow up.

And for You? The non-Physician/Psychiatrist?

You get a prescription for Cogentin, to mask the symptoms of the Tardive Dyskinesias, (Brain and CNS Damage) Psychiatrists induced in you, while those Psychiatrists were 'Taking The Money' and fantasizing about 'Chemical Imbalances' in your, until you tangled with Psychiatry, previously undamaged brain, and life.

But: "Hope Remains", for a 'Cure', and "Research Must Continue": tax funded research from an infestation of tax consuming Psychiatrists who are making a damn decent wage, at everyone else's expense. As noted earlier (1): 83% of Indiana's Psychiatrists favor National Socialist Single Payer Health Care.

No One Left Un-Diagnosed, and Un-Drugged, except themselves.

Here's another page, on DSM-able Docs.

JAMA On Bribes: Knock It Off

Editors of the Journal of The American Medical Association ran a piece [4/16/08] lambasting the corrupting influence of Big Money corrupting Big Medicine.

Impugning the Integrity of Medical Science
The Adverse Effects of Industry Influence
Catherine D. DeAngelis, MD, MPH, Phil B. Fontanarosa, MD, MBA

It's Not a Pretty Picture

They open with:
"The profession of medicine, in every aspect—clinical, education, and research—has been inundated with profound influence from the pharmaceutical and medical device industries. This has occurred because physicians have allowed it to happen, and it is time to stop."

They offer 11 points of recommendation:

"As a beginning, we propose the following:

  • 1: All clinical trials must be prospectively listed in registries accepted by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) prior to patient enrollment, and the name(s) of the principal investigator(s) should be included as a required data element in the trial registration record.

  • 2: All individuals named as authors on articles must fulfill authorship criteria. Journals should require each author to report his or her specific contributions to the article, and should consider publishing these contributions. All individuals who were involved with the manuscript or study but who do not qualify for authorship (such as those who provided writing assistance) must be named in the acknowledgment section of the article, with reporting of their specific affiliations and contributions and whether they were compensated for those contributions.

  • 3: All journals must disclose all pertinent relationships of all authors with any for-profit companies, and must publish all funding sources for each article.

  • 4: Journal editors must seriously consider funding sources and authors' disclosed financial conflicts of interest and financial relationships when deciding whether to publish a study or review.

  • 5: For-profit companies that sponsor biomedical research studies should not be solely or primarily involved in collecting and monitoring of data, in conducting the data analysis, and in preparing the manuscript reporting study results. These responsibilities should primarily or solely be performed by academic investigators who are not employed by the company sponsoring the research.

  • 6: All journals must require a statistical analysis of clinical trial data conducted by a statistician who is not an employee of a for-profit company.

  • 7: Any author who fails to disclose financial relationships or other conflicts of interest, or who allows his or her name to be used for work that he or she did not actually perform, must be reported to the appropriate authority (ie, medical school dean or department chair) or appropriate oversight body. If an article in which this occurs is published, the offending author must then submit a letter to the editor, in which he or she provides full disclosure and apologizes for the infraction to the readers of the journal. Depending on the nature and severity of the issue, the author may be banned from publishing articles in that journal.

  • 8: Any peer reviewer who provides any confidential information, such as a manuscript under review, to any third parties, such as for-profit companies, or who engages in other similar unethical behavior, also should be reported to the appropriate authority (eg, medical school dean) or oversight body, and should be banned from reviewing and publishing articles in that journal.

  • 9: Any editor who knowingly allows (or is party to allowing) for-profit companies to manipulate his or her journal must be relieved of the editorship.

  • 10: To maintain a healthy distance from industry influence, professional organizations and providers of continuing medical education courses should not condone or tolerate for-profit companies having any input into the content of educational materials or providing funding or sponsorship for medical education programs.

  • 11: Individual physicians must be free of financial influences of pharmaceutical and medical device companies including serving on speaker's bureaus or accepting gifts.
  • "Primum non nocere does not only hold true for physicians directly treating patients, but also holds true for all involved in medical research, biomedical publication, and medical education."

"Primum non nocere" ["First No Harm"] does NOT appear in the Hippocratic oath, nor the Psychiatric gestalt.

At psychrights.org, type the name Cosgrove into the onsite search box for the Cosgrove and Krimsky study regarding financial conflicts of interest conflicting 56% of the panelists whose Opinions comprise the DSM-IV-TR.

The actual Proof of a chemical imbalance that any Psych Med corrects - which justifies 'Taking The Money" to wield chemical antipsychotic sledgehammers against the brains and bodies of Anyone, let alone inattentive children with the 'Fidgets' - is Still Undiscovered.

Mass. Bill: 2 Years In Jail For Drug Co. Pens

    From the Wall Street Journal
Harvard Docs: Bring On The Drug Reps.

Looks like Legislation being proposed in Mass. would:

1: Make accepting even a pen from a drug co. sales a crime punishable by 2 years in jail.
2: Place all medical records on computer
3: Pay for those computerized records with cigarette tax hikes.

And of course there's the expected kvetching and carping from Docs on the receiving end of the drug co. freebies.

This proposed legislation also mandates that all Mass. medical records go into a computer data base by 2015 [for better patient service, of course] and that the database be funded from a hike in cigarette taxes.

We're sold on Item 1. Bribes are bribes, period. You wouldn't put up with bribes to a judge or a police officer. Why put up with bribes to a Doctor?

Medical records on computer only open the door to all manner of 4th Amendment violating snooping, by anyone and everyone, with any agenda.

Paying for it through cigarette/sin taxes is not only social engineering, but a blunder engendering violent crime, and requiring additional law enforcement expenditures.

We're fond of the Cato Institute's take on this totalitarian short-sightedness.

    New York's Deadly Cigarette Tax
    by Patrick Fleenor
This article was published in the New York Post, May 26, 2003

"Earlier this month, federal authorities announced the arrest of 10 people charged with smuggling millions of dollars worth of cigarettes from Virginia to New York. The smugglers are now also being investigated for possible terrorist ties. Two weeks earlier, New Jersey police stopped a truck headed to New York City and found more than $1 million of bootleg cigarettes.

Those are only the latest in a series of busts of large operations supplying New York City's cigarette black market. That market received a big boost last year when Mayor Michael Bloomberg hiked the city's cigarette excise tax from 8 cents to $1.50 per pack. That hike, coupled with a series of recent increases in the state cigarette tax, has pushed the price of legal brand name cigarettes to more than $7.50 per pack. As a result, it is possible to earn hundreds of thousands of dollars on every truckload of cigarettes smuggled into the city.

Competing with smugglers to supply the city's illicit market are thieves who target businesses that distribute and sell cigarettes. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms reports that there has been a dramatic rise in the number of tobacco thefts in the NYC region in recent years. Law enforcement authorities as far away as Virginia and North Carolina have also reported a rash of heists that they think were aimed at supplying the city's growing illegal market."

This Cato page is a strongly recommended primer/indictment against the lunacy of handing over money and power to Govt. for Any reason. There's an accompanying link there to a 20 page pdf by Mr. Fleenor on cigarette taxes.

Peril Exists From FDA, The World's Gold Standard

    NYT April 16 2008
Panel's Bipartisan View: F.D.A. Is Underfunded

A recent Senate Resolution increasing the FDA's $1.8 Billion budget by another $375 Million from Govt. revenues speaks of "User Fees" paid in to the FDA from drug and medical device manufacturers. Note the word "User" as in drug and device manufacturers "Using" the FDA. What are they "Using" it for?

FDA Commissioner Dr. von Eschenbach seemed hesitant to accept this $375 Million. Does a Govt. Agency turning Down another $375 Million strike anyone else as low budget sci-fi? Claims were advanced last month from outside the agency that without additional funds American lives were at risk, and Dr. von Eschenbach warned that "peril exists."

In a later speech, Dr. von Eschenbach about faced with the pronouncement that the FDA has been "eminently successful up to this period of time", and that it remains "the world's gold standard."

The FDA has been eminently successful, at approving atypical antipsychotics for children for "irritability": atypical antipsychotics which shorten people's lives by decades.

It occurs to us that if those drug and device co. "User" fees were taken out of FDA hands [the very hands regulating those same "User" fee paying drug and device cos.] that those FDA hands could do their job just fine, Without having to be called onto the carpet in the US House of Representatives to explain themselves.

$1.8 Billion is one heck of a pile of everybody else's money, in exchange for an FDA that tells Congress that from their own "eminently successful world's gold standard, peril exists."

Employer Of Last Resort, 83% Psychiatrists Support Universal Healthcare

At the Wall Street Journal's Health Blog, Jacob Goldstein writes:
As Factories Close, Health Care is ‘Employer of Last Resort’

A Medicare and Medicaid financed economy?

From Reuters: Doctors support universal health care: survey

"The Indiana survey found that 83 percent of psychiatrists, 69 percent of emergency medicine specialists, 65 percent of pediatricians, 64 percent of internists, 60 percent of family physicians and 55 percent of general surgeons favor a national health insurance plan."

Who could possibly oppose guaranteeing medical care for all? Health care is a right, isn't it? So long as somebody Else is paying for it, Right?

Cong. Control of Healthcare is Dangerous for Children

    Ron Paul's Texas Straight Talk - A weekly Column (Sept 30 2007)

Congressional Control of Health Care is Dangerous for Children

This week Congress is again grasping for more control over the health of American children with the expansion of the State Children’s Health Insurance Program (SCHIP). Parents who think federally subsidized health care might be a good idea should be careful what they wish for.

Despite political rhetoric about a War on Drugs, federally-funded programs result in far more teenage drug use than the most successful pill pusher on the playground. These pills are given out as a result of dubious universal mental health screening programs for school children, supposedly directed toward finding mental disorders or suicidal tendencies. The use of antipsychotic medication in children has increased fivefold between 1995 and 2002. More than 2.5 million children are now taking these medications, and many children are taking multiple drugs at one time.

With universal mental health screening being implemented in schools, pharmaceutical companies stand to increase their customer base even more, and many parents are rightfully concerned. Opponents of one such program called TeenScreen, claim it wrongly diagnoses children as much as 84% of the time, often incorrectly labeling them, resulting in the assigning of medications that can be very damaging. While we are still awaiting evidence that there are benefits to mental health screening programs, evidence that these drugs actually cause violent psychotic episodes is mounting.

Many parents have very valid concerns about the drugs to which a child labeled as “suicidal” or “depressed,” or even ADHD, could be subjected. Of further concern is the subjectivity of diagnosis of mental health disorders. The symptoms of ADHD are strikingly similar to indications that a child is gifted, and bored in an unchallenging classroom. In fact, these programs, and many of the syndromes they attempt to screen for, are highly questionable. Parents are wise to question them.

As it stands now, parental consent is required for these screening programs, but in some cases mere passive consent is legal. Passive consent is obtained when a parent receives a consent form and fails to object to the screening. In other words, failure to reply is considered affirmative consent. In fact, TeenScreen advocates incorporating their program into the curriculum as a way to by-pass any consent requirement. These universal, or mandatory, screening programs being called for by TeenScreen and the New Freedom Commission on Mental Health should be resisted.

Consent must be express, written, voluntary and informed. Programs that refuse to give parents this amount of respect, should not receive federal funding. Moreover, parents should not be pressured into screening or drugging their children with the threat that not doing so constitutes child abuse or neglect. My bill, The Parental Consent Act of 2007 is aimed at stopping federal funding of these programs.

We don’t need a village, a bureaucrat, or the pharmaceutical industry raising our children. That’s what parents need to be doing.

We agree wholeheartedly with Congressman Paul's assessment of this situation.

Findings, HR 2387, the Parental Consent Act of 2007

"(4) Authors of the bible of psychiatric diagnosis, the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual, admit that the diagnostic criteria for mental illness are vague, saying, `DSM-IV criteria remain a consensus without clear empirical data supporting the number of items required for the diagnosis. . . . Furthermore, the behavioral characteristics specified in DSM-IV, despite efforts to standardize them, remain subjective. . . .’ (American Psychiatric Association Committee on the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (DSM-IV 1994), pp. 1162-1163).

*(5) Because of the subjectivity of psychiatric diagnosis, it is all too easy for a psychiatrist to label a person’s disagreement with the psychiatrist’s political beliefs a mental disorder.

    (6) Efforts are underway to add a diagnosis of `extreme intolerance’ to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual. Prisoners in the California State penal system judged to have this extreme intolerance based on race or sexual orientation are considered to be delusional and are being medicated with anti-psychotic drugs. Psychiatry Without Drugs: No Harm Done?

What harm can just talking to a Psychiatrist do, if there aren't any Drugs involved? It's just conversation, Right? This article from Lawrence Stevens J.D. at antipsychiatry.org says otherwise. Once slimed with Psychiatry's label, You'll be lying about it for the rest of your life if you want a job, and want to Keep it.

    Lawyers and the Bar Examination:

"In his book The Powers of Psychiatry, Jonas Robitscher, J.D., M.D., Professor of Law and Behavioral Sciences at Emory University's Schools of Law and Medicine, pointed out that "Applicants for the state of Georgia bar examination, like applicants in many other states, are required to state...whether they have ever received diagnosis of...emotional disturbance, nervous or mental disorder, or received regular treatment for any of these conditions. Although there is no known instance of this information having been used to keep an applicant from taking the examination or being admitted to the Georgia bar, there are instances of denying applicants in other jurisdictions" (Houghton Mifflin Co., 1980, p. 234).

    Doctors and Medical School:

"In the same book Dr. Robitscher described the case of a medical school applicant who had graduated from college magna cum laude, who was admitted to Phi Beta Kappa, and who scored in the upper ninety-ninth percentile in the Medical College Admission Test - but who was denied admission to medical school because she had sought psychiatric treatment (pp. 238-239). He said this is typical of "prejudicial policies of not admitting or readmitting students who have had or are undergoing psychotherapy" (p. 239)."

Airline Pilots, Vice-Presidential candidates, and Taxi Drivers:

"The presumption of unreliability, untrustworthiness, and emotional instability which flows from having ever sought psychiatric or psychological "therapy" doesn't haunt only people with responsibilities like doctors, lawyers, airline pilots, and Presidential/Vice-Presidential candidates: In his book, Prisoners of Psychiatry, ACLU attorney Bruce Ennis reports many cases of people who have been denied taxi driver licenses because of past psychiatric treatment even though "Most of them had never been hospitalized" and had never done anything to suggest they were dangerous (p. 160).

    Records [Govt.] Required:

"In a book she wrote, Eileen Walkenstein, M.D., a psychiatrist, says "A psychiatric diagnosis is like a jail sentence, a permanent mark on your record that follows you wherever you go" (Don't Shrink To Fit! A Confrontation with Dehumanization in Psychiatry and Psychology, Grove Press, 1975, p. 22). If you consult a mental health professional, you will probably get some kind of "diagnosis". In at least some states, professional licensing laws require mental health professionals, including psychologists, to keep a written record of "diagnosis" and "treatment".

So, talk to a 'Mental Health' professional, even Without the crippling and all too frequently lethal side effects of Psych meds, and wonder, when and where your permanent Govt. file - as DSM incurably 'Mentally Ill' - will surface as the hangman it is, when you can't get a job driving a taxi, without lying.

    But 'Mental Illness' remains frighteningly
undiscovered and underdiagnosed. We need more 'Mental Health' Treatment facilities for these Insomniacs, Smokers, and DSM Not Otherwise Specifieds: at tax-payer expense.

We have State 'Physician Diversion Programs' to 'Rehabilitate' DSM Mentally Ill Doctors and due to the staggering scope of non-compliance in California, on June 30 2008 the California 'Diversion' program is calling it quits.

Ms. Becky Anderson, and Mrs. Mikulecky [CNN] their family and friends, probably wouldn't have been Doctored into this lethal horror, if their Doctor had had his license revoked, for life, rather than his being referred for 'Diversion'.

The gross non-compliance with these 'Diversion' programs is because Surgeons and Psychiatrists don't want to be tainted with the stink of a Psych label, any more than you should. Diversion Programs, along with the theft of inalienable civil rights leading to a lifetime of Perjuring yourself just to find a job, and looking over your shoulder to keep it, manacled by Psychiatric Opinion, both directly contradict Sec. 1 of the 14th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

    5th Amendment VS Psychiatry

Amendment V: No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a Grand Jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the Militia, when in actual service in time of War or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offence to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb, nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use without just compensation.

The Lead 'Investigator' was 1 Dr. J. Biederman, and This page tells us:

Dr. Biederman has received research support from Shire Richwood, Eli Lilly, Wyeth, Pfizer, Cephalon, Novartis, Janssen, Noven Pharmaceutical, Stanley Foundation, the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), the National Institute of Child Health & Human Development, and the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA); is a member of the speakers bureaus for GlaxoSmithKline, Eli Lilly, Pfizer, Novartis, Wyeth, Shire Richwood, ALZA, and Cephalon; and is a member of the advisory boards for Eli Lilly, Celltech, Shire Richwood, Novartis, Noven Pharmaceutical, ALZA, McNeil, and Cephalon.

    The Hippocratic oath, again.

According to a 1993* survey of 150 U.S. and Canadian medical schools, for example, only 14 percent of modern oaths prohibit euthanasia, 11 percent hold convenant with a deity, 8 percent foreswear abortion, and a mere 3 percent forbid sexual contact with patients.

Psychiatry VS 4th Amendment, Police State

In the former USSR Psychiatry was used as a weapon to ruin political dissidents. In the post USSR, it's back. Vodka is a widely self-prescribed - God, this place sucks - fixative there. Police drag dissidents off the street as 'Mentally Ill' drunks, and off to the hospital/psych prison, for years, decades, or death.

The DSM-IV-TR qualifies Intoxication as an 'Incurable Mental Illness'. Psychiatrists Intoxicate people with toxins which for 22 years have been known to Intoxicate those people into killers.

Amendment IV: The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

If one cannot possess a right to be secure in their person - from being Psychiatrically Drugged into a murderer - one possesses no rights at all. This post's sole link foreshadows psych drug Intoxication even as a defense in Court being bought, right off the table.

Ron Paul's Texas Straight Talk - A weekly Column

    The Emerging Surveillance State

Last month, the House amended the 1978 Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) to expand the government’s ability to monitor our private communications. This measure, if it becomes law, will result in more warrantless government surveillance of innocent American citizens.

Though some opponents claimed that the only controversial part of this legislation was its grant of immunity to telecommunications companies, there is much more to be wary of in the bill. In the House version, Title II, Section 801, extends immunity from prosecution of civil legal action to people and companies including any provider of an electronic communication service, any provider of a remote computing service, “any other communication service provider who has access to wire or electronic communications,” any “parent, subsidiary, affiliate, successor, or assignee” of such company, any “officer, employee, or agent” of any such company, and any “landlord, custodian, or other person who may be authorized or required to furnish assistance.” The Senate version goes even further by granting retroactive immunity to such entities that may have broken the law in the past.

The new FISA bill allows the federal government to compel many more types of companies and individuals to grant the government access to our communications without a warrant. The provisions in the legislation designed to protect Americans from warrantless surveillance are full of loopholes and ambiguities. There is no blanket prohibition against listening in on all American citizens without a warrant.

We have been told that this power to listen in on communications is legal and only targets terrorists. But if what these companies are being compelled to do is legal, why is it necessary to grant them immunity? If what they did in the past was legal and proper, why is it necessary to grant them retroactive immunity?

In communist East Germany , one in every 100 citizens was an informer for the dreaded secret police, the Stasi. They either volunteered or were compelled by their government to spy on their customers, their neighbors, their families, and their friends. When we think of the evil of totalitarianism, such networks of state spies are usually what comes to mind. Yet, with modern technology, what once took tens of thousands of informants can now be achieved by a few companies being coerced by the government to allow it to listen in to our communications. This surveillance is un-American.

We should remember that former New York governor Eliot Spitzer was brought down by a provision of the PATRIOT Act that required enhanced bank monitoring of certain types of financial transactions. Yet we were told that the PATRIOT Act was needed to catch terrorists, not philanderers. The extraordinary power the government has granted itself to look into our private lives can be used for many purposes unrelated to fighting terrorism. We can even see how expanded federal government surveillance power might be used to do away with political rivals.

The Fourth Amendment to our Constitution requires the government to have a warrant when it wishes to look into the private affairs of individuals. If we are to remain a free society we must defend our rights against any governmental attempt to undermine or bypass the Constitution."

But if what these Psychiatrists/Drug Cos. are ..... do [ing] is legal, why is it necessary to grant them [DSM] immunity? If what they did in the past was legal and proper, why is it necessary to grant them retroactive immunity?

4th Amendment? We don't got to show you no stinking 4th Amendment. We're Psychiatrists. Take these Drugs, while we Take The Kickback Money.

$23 BILLION NIH Give Aways, No Oversight

    From the NYT

“For us to try to manage directly the conflict-of-interest of an N.I.H. [National Institute of Health] investigator would be not only inappropriate but pretty much impossible,” said Dr. Norka Ruiz Bravo, the institutes’ deputy director for extramural research.

The health institutes awarded more than $23 billion last year through over 50,000 competitive grants to more than 325,000 researchers at over 3,000 universities. Each grant typically underwrites only a part of the cost of the research at issue.

Indeed, academic medicine has become so rife with conflicts of interests in recent years that the Food and Drug Administration has complained that it has difficulty finding experts for its advisory boards who do not have a conflict."

    Inappropriate? Impossible?
There's only 1 response to a $23 Billion dollar gaff like that.

Dr. Bonkers, Sunshine Trouble Maker Interview

State Sunshine and Open Records brings us an interview with Ben Hansen: Dr. M. I. Bonkers himself.

"This week’s interview is with Ben Hansen who lives in the Traverse City, Michigan area. You may contact Ben via his website at the Bonkers Institute or by emailing him at drbonkers [at] gmail [dot] com. Ben has played a key role in uncovering issues with how psychiatric drugs are prescribed for Michigan’s school children. His work has been discussed in the New York Times, and elsewhere.

"What is the worst (or funniest or most obstructionist or most outrageous) reply you’ve ever received?

I’ve requested information from other states with Lilly-funded programs similar to Michigan’s, and it’s been quite interesting to see how differently each state has responded. Some are more helpful than others.

The Arkansas Dept. of Human Services informed me that all documents related to its program had been “destroyed.” I asked when these records were destroyed, and by whom. They replied, “We have researched our files and found no documents related to your request. We will now consider our response as final to your inquiry. Out-of-state entities are not subject to the Arkansas Freedom of Information Act.” Arkansas is the only state to tell me I needed to change my residence before they’d answer my questions!"

The State Attorney General of Arkansas - Dustin McDaniel - has hired a high priced out of State law firm to sue Johnson and Johnson/Janssen for $600 Million.

    Case No. 07-15345
    State of Arkansas vs. Janssen/J&J
    Here's from the Suit.

    Paragraph 56, page 15.

"Risperdal is inherently, abnormally, and unreasonably dangerous. The health risks and costs of Risperdal to the citizens of the State and to the State greatly outweigh any claimed utility of Risperdal.

    59.
"The defective condition of Risperdal directly and proximately caused Arkansas residents to suffer various Risperdal induced diseases, injuries and sicknesses, and directly and proximately caused the State to expend millions of dollars in order to provide necessary health care to these citizens through its Medicaid, DBHS and DFAEBD programs, thereby directly damaging the State."

The Arkansas complaint can be had on the sidebar.

Ben Hansen is trying to get the poisoning of kids - for profit - reigned in. Dustin McDaniel is suing J&J for $600 Million. Some bureaucrat, in AG McDaniel's Arkansas, is inviting Mr. Hansen - since he doesn't live in Arkansas - to perform a physical impossibility. Who might this bureaucrat be? The mind boggles.

    CME, A Refresher Course

    Hippocratic Oath -- Classical Version
I swear by Apollo Physician and Asclepius and Hygieia and Panaceia and all the gods and goddesses, making them my witnesses, that I will fulfil according to my ability and judgment this oath and this covenant:

To hold him who has taught me this art as equal to my parents and to live my life in partnership with him, and if he is in need of money to give him a share of mine, and to regard his offspring as equal to my brothers in male lineage and to teach them this art - if they desire to learn it - without fee and covenant; to give a share of precepts and oral instruction and all the other learning to my sons and to the sons of him who has instructed me and to pupils who have signed the covenant and have taken an oath according to the medical law, but no one else.

I will apply dietetic measures for the benefit of the sick according to my ability and judgment; I will keep them from harm and injustice.

I will neither give a deadly drug to anybody who asked for it, nor will I make a suggestion to this effect. Similarly I will not give to a woman an abortive remedy. In purity and holiness I will guard my life and my art.

I will not use the knife, not even on sufferers from stone, but will withdraw in favor of such men as are engaged in this work.

Whatever houses I may visit, I will come for the benefit of the sick, remaining free of all intentional injustice, of all mischief and in particular of sexual relations with both female and male persons, be they free or slaves.

What I may see or hear in the course of the treatment or even outside of the treatment in regard to the life of men, which on no account one must spread abroad, I will keep to myself, holding such things shameful to be spoken about.

If I fulfil this oath and do not violate it, may it be granted to me to enjoy life and art, being honored with fame among all men for all time to come; if I transgress it and swear falsely, may the opposite of all this be my lot.

Psychiatric Genetics Soon To Be Validated

Scientists devise software that can interpret attractiveness
"Believe it or not, this isn't the first time we've seen software created in order to determine whether a subject is drop-dead gorgeous, but scientists at Tel Aviv University have seemingly concocted a program of their own that can "interpret attractiveness in women." Before you ask, the researchers have yet to perfect the art of computing the beauty of males, but they're attributing said omission to the difficulty in "defining" attractiveness in dudes. Nevertheless, the software was purportedly able to reach nearly the same conclusion as humans about how lovely (or not) a hundred different ladies were, as it broke down features like face symmetry, smoothness of the skin and hair color. We're told the development could eventually be used in "plastic and reconstructive surgery and computer visualization programs," but c'mon, this is totally meant to automate the grueling Hot or Not process."
KEY WORD ALERT! "We're Told" and "Could Eventually." Look through any of the Multi Million Dollar research papers into the BS (Bio-Science) of Psychiatric Genetics: with its endless qualifying adverbs: might, could, possibly, conceivably, blah, blah, blah, send more money, blah, blah, blah.

The DSM-IV-TR weighs in at 883 pages. DSM-V is scheduled for 2011 (at Lord Knows how many pages) This "Hot or Not" breakthrough (if commercially successful) will generate at least another 30 debilitating 'Mental Illness' labels right on time for antidepressant and antipsychotic hosing in the DSM-VI, which, if past be prologue, will be issued in a 6 foot stack of volumes not unlike the unabridged $1000 Oxford English Dictionary. But; Continuing Medical Education from Pharmaceutical manufacturers will defray the $1000 charge, for the Psychiatric sales force of their products.

"Hot or Not" was engineered at Tel Aviv University; and the folks in Israel picked up the tab.

So what happens to the women who read out below 50?

"It's not your fault Ms. Your depression is due to the 'Unattractive' gene. We have Scientific, Computer Generated and Verified Proof, that you'll Never get a date. Does your family have a history of this sort of 'problem'? Was your mother, ever able to get a date? No matter, we know what's best. We're professionals. Just swallow these expensive pills for the remaining 70 years of your life, ..... provided you don't Hang Yourself in 2 weeks under their influence.

The $29.99 Shopping Mall Photo/Computer analyzed Proof of the 'Unattractive' gene will at long last validate today's multi-million dollar funded junk-science of Psychiatric Genetics, as the low scorers sink into Major Depressive Disorders.

This waste of money, while laughable, (or not) reflects the industry pervasive mentality of destroying people with Psychiatric labels, under the 'label' of helping them.

P.S. If you tax wasting Hot or Not tenured academics have even a shred of conscience [or commercial acumen]; you'll weight these dice so that Every woman who antes up comes away a winner.

    What's next? Letters to youtube?

Lord forgive us. We almost forgot to commend Dr. Blumsohn at scientific-misconduct.blogspot.com for putting all this together.

Day 2: Pharmalot. The controversy seems to be heating up.

    1st Amendment vs Psychiatry

Psychiatry - having NO hard bio-scientific evidence of the existence of 'Mental Illness' as a pathology - remains an opinion derived, faith based practice. As such, its tenets self describe it as a religion. One needs faith [in copious amounts] in its prognostications for any 'healing' benefits to accrue.

Should a practicing Catholic suffer a loss of faith, they are guaranteed their inalienable right to walk away from that faith, or any other religious [or atheistic] faith they may have once embraced. Not so with Psychiatry. Once inducted/enslaved into Psychiatry's church, the Psychiatric label is as damning, and life destroying, as the red A that Hester wore in Nathaniel Hawthorn's 'Scarlet Letter'.

If Psychiatrists are truly interested in helping people, they can do so quite well Without State funded and State sanctioned Star Chamber powers. The existence of those powers is an abrogation of the very principles of the 1st Amendment.

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof, or abridging the freedom of speech, ....."

Congress has not only made Anti-Constitutional laws respecting Psychiatry, they're funding the living daylights out of it, with both sides of the aisle taking buckets of Pharmaceutical campaign contribution money to guarantee that they continue to respect it.

    Antidepressants, Money, Columbine

From Philip of Furious Seasons, through the Willamette Week:

Bitter Pill, A Portland doc flips on big pharma and reveals its "dirty little secret."

It's a lengthy article, and chock full of insight for consumers.

    Caveat Emptor.

“The practice of drug companies paying doctors to be their spokespeople is extremely problematic, because it creates a financial incentive for the physicians to intentionally be deceptive in their lectures to other doctors,” says Daniel Carlat, an assistant clinical professor of psychiatry at Tufts University School of Medicine. Carlat himself was once on the dole for Wyeth Pharmaceuticals, makers of Effexor, until he found the arrangement too compromising and quit.

“It provides incentives to tweak the data to tell only part of the truth,” Carlat says."

"In recent years, the FDA has mandated warnings on all antidepressants due to elevated risks of suicide and suicidal thinking in some people under the age of 25 who take the drugs. In addition, antidepressants can cause very intense withdrawal problems for some patients, most notably with Effexor and Paxil. The drugs can also cause internal agitation—akathisia—in some patients, and, tragically, antidepressant use sometimes has been connected, however peripherally, to school shootings, most famously at Columbine High School in 1999, where one of the shooters, Eric Harris, had been taking Luvox.

There is also the not-insignificant cost of the drugs. No one will hazard a guess as to how much of America’s investment in antidepressants may be money down the drain, but it’s obvious that at least a portion is."

Money, Drugs, Violence ON those Drugs. Do the timeline. Whatever was eating Eric Harris, Eric Harris did NOT go on a shooting rampage until AFTER being poisoned by a 'Mental Health' professional.

Thanks for this terrific piece Phil.

Even if you're not being poisoned by it, you're still paying for it.

Ron Paul's Texas Straight Talk - A weekly Column

    On Money, Inflation and Government

These past few weeks have provided an unfortunate opportunity to discuss inflation. The dollar index has reached new all-time lows. The total money supply, M3, as calculated by private sources, is growing at a disturbing 17% rate. The Fed is pumping dollars into the economy at an alarming rate. Just recently the Fed announced new loan auctions totaling $100 billion. That is new money created from thin air. If these money auctions, combined with the bailout of Bear Stearns, continue to be the trend, we are in for some economic stormy weather. The explanation lies in understanding the basics of money, and why it is dangerous to give government and big banks control over it.

First, money is not wealth, in and of itself. You cannot create more wealth simply by creating more money. Wall Street bankers cry out for more liquidity, but what is really needed is more value behind the dollar. But the value, unfortunately, isn't there.

You see, the Fed creates new money and uses it to purchase securities from banks. Flush with funds, these banks seek to put this money to use. During the Fed's expansionary period, much of this money went to home loans. Through a combination of federal government inducements to lend to risky borrowers, and the Fed's supply of easy money, the housing bubble took shape. Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac were encouraged to purchase and securitize mortgages, while investors, buoyed by implicit government backing, rushed to provide funding. Money that could have been invested in more productive, less risky sectors of the economy was thereby malinvested in subprime mortgage loans.

The implicit guarantee from the Fed is quickly becoming explicit, as those institutions deemed "too big to fail" are bailed out at taxpayer expense. Wall Street made a killing during the housing bubble, reaping record profits. Now that the bubble has burst, these same firms are trying to dump their losses on the taxpayers. This approach requires more money creation, and therefore debasement of all dollars in circulation.

The Federal Reserve, a quasi-government entity, should not be creating money or determining interest rates, as this causes malinvestment and excessive debt to accumulate. Centrally planned, government manipulated economies always fail eventually. The collapse of communism and the failure of socialism should have made this apparent. Even the most educated, well-intentioned central planners cannot plan the market better than the market itself. Those that understand economics best, understand this reality.

In free markets, both success and failure are options. If government interventions prevent businesses, like Bear Stearns, from failing, then it is not truly a free market. As painful as it might be for Wall Street, banks, even big ones, must be allowed to fail.

The end game for this policy of monetary inflation is that the money in your bank account loses purchasing power. So, by keeping failing banks afloat, the Fed punishes those who have lived frugally and saved. The power to create money is a power that should never be granted to government. As we can plainly see today, the Fed has abused this power, and taxpayers are paying the price.

"I cannot undertake to lay my finger on that article of the Constitution which granted a right to Congress of expending, on the objects of benevolence, the money of their constituents." attr. James Madison

"Underlying most arguments against the free market is a lack of belief in freedom itself." attr. Milton Friedman

"Government's view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it."

    SSRIs 70% Driving Ability Impaired

On Jan 22 2008 Evelyn Pringle had:

"Jury Trials In 2008 Expected To Expose SSRI Maker's Dirty Secrets"
"In December 2006, a Journal of Clinical Psychiatry study reported that about seven of every ten people who take antidepressants have impaired driving ability and that 16% have severe motor impairments after taking the drugs."

    Diabetes, Heart Attack 2.4X Increase

From Reuters: Diabetes equals heart attack in later heart risk.

"Diabetics have more than 2.4 times the normal risk of dying from cardiovascular disease -- about the same as those who have had a heart attack, the five-year Danish study of more than 3 million people found.

"The increased risk was observed in people at all ages with either type 1 or type 2 diabetes who were receiving insulin or other drugs to reduce levels of sugar in the blood," said Dr. Tina Ken Schramm, who led the study at the Gentofte Hospital in Hellerup, Denmark.

"When people with diabetes do have heart attacks, they are twice as likely to die as non-diabetics."

Atypical antipsychotic poisons cause massive weight gain and Diabetes. Tens of thousands of amputations are performed every year, due to Diabetes.

'Insomnia' [$$ Billing Code 307.42] is a DSM-IV-TR poisonable, legal debilitation, as: incurably 'mentally ill'. But at least you won't have to worry about being lifelong afflicted with 'Insomnia'. Oops, forgot to mention that Psychiatry HAS NO CURES, only a lifetime of 'Treatments', and Drugs.

Maybe you'll get hosed with an anti-psychotic, develop Diabetes, and have your leg cut off, provided you don't Die of a Heart Attack first. You'll be an obese, diabetic amputee; and you'll still have trouble getting to sleep, [who wouldn't?] but at least you'll be 'Mentally Healthy'.

Psychiatry: the gift that just keeps on giving.
