FDA Fails To Check Medical Devices
The Project on Government Oversight (POGO) has called for an investigation into the U.S. FDA’s early laboratory inspections of high-risk medical devices, saying that the agency conducts far too few of them. The watchdog group urged lawmakers to give the FDA more funding to hire and train additional inspectors. FDA records show that early lab inspections dropped from 33 in 2005 to just 1 in 2008. I wonder if there is any scientist with ethics left.
This is spooky!
Little is known of the brain to make such treatments.
It can make lots of difference in the whole system.

Spooky? Ethics? When one is discussing Behavioral $cientists?

This critter was approved for severe OCD based on only 26 test guinea pigs, and the article puts 1 in 50 people as suffering from OCD.

And at $60K a pop, you have to expect the kind of Ethical consideration Behavioral Ghostbusters are Already World Renown for!

It's a hard work to speak of psychiatry's damages in Brazil. Though many Brazilians that I know are dying because of psych drugs. They don't complain.

Your blog is a great source of info on the things going on in psychiatry at large. The stuff about OCD implants is worth translating, for example. All brazilians must know about this. Thank you for posting.

Ezequiel;

And Thank You for your kind words Sir.

We would comment more often but it would be unfair to ask your readers to run for the Babelfish each time, ..... because what little Portuguese we know is inadequate to properly communicate our knowledge of Psychiatry.

Cruising around the psych blogs we meet some of the nicest, hardest working, and intelligent people. And the more years they have been Psychiatrized, the worse they are hurting.

And it is always 'For Their Own Good'. We'd post more often but we can only read just So much of That Psychiatric Behavioral Bull $cience without losing our lunch.
