VP Pence Casts Tie-Breaking Vote To Erase Obama Measure: Let's States Deny Planned Parenthood Funding

weaselzippers

Murkowski and Collins vote with Dems, the female versions of McCain and Graham.

Via Fox News:
Republican legislation letting states deny federal family planning money to Planned Parenthood and other abortion providers squeezed narrowly through the Senate Thursday, rescued by an ailing GOP senator who returned to the Capitol after back surgery and a tie-breaking vote by Vice President Mike Pence.
In Congress’ latest clash mixing the politics of abortion, women’s health and states’ rights, Pence cast the decisive vote in a 51-50 roll call. The tally had been tied after two GOP senators, Alaska’s Lisa Murkowski and Maine’s Susan Collins, joined Democrats opposing the measure.
Senate approval sent the legislation to President Donald Trump, who was expected to sign it. The House voted its consent last month.
The bill erases a regulation imposed by former President Barack Obama shortly before he left office that lets states deny family planning funds to organizations only if they are incapable of providing those services. Some states have passed laws in recent years denying the money to groups that provide abortions.
Passage gives Republicans and anti-abortion groups a needed victory just six days after the party’s highly touted health care overhaul disintegrated in the House due to GOP divisions. Besides erasing much of Obama’s 2010 health care law, the failed House bill would have blocked federal funds for Planned Parenthood for a year.
There is already a ban on using federal funds for abortion except for rare instances.
Democrats assailed the legislation as an attack on women, two months after Trump’s inauguration prompted a women’s march on Washington that mushroomed into anti-Trump demonstrations around the nation.

DHS Designates California and Connecticut As Sanctuary States

Buh-bye federal funding!

[Ed; And who Says there is no joy in Mudville tonight?]

Via Free Beacon:

The Department of Homeland Security added the entire states of California and Connecticut to its list of U.S. jurisdictions that hinder cooperation with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in detaining illegal immigrants.

Both states had enacted legislation called “Trust Acts,” allowing local law enforcement to ignore ICE’s requests to detain certain illegal immigrants in custody. However, the legislation maintains that an illegal immigrant would be detained if the individual had a criminal past.

Connecticut honors ICE detainers if an individual is a gang member, convicted of a felony, or is under pending charges, among other things. Since early February, local law enforcement in Connecticut “will not enforce ICE Detainer Requests solely on the basis of a final order of removal, unless accompanied by a judicial warrant, or past criminal conviction, unless the conviction is for a violent felony,” according to a Weekly Declined Detainer Outcome report by ICE.

Climate change is making us mentally unhinged — and not because of the stress we might endure when squabbling with a family member or co-worker about its causes or possible solutions.

Global warming is already bringing about more extreme weather events, like powerful storms, which can cause devastating inland flooding or transform coastal communities into heaps of wreckage. The death, displacement, and personal injury brought about disasters are traumatizing survivors in the immediate aftermath and leaving some with long-term post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), according to a report by the American Psychological Association and ecoAmerica, a nonprofit focused on climate change.

The study, Mental Health and Our Changing Climate, is a follow up to a 2014 report.

Susan Clayton, a psychologist at the College of Wooster and co-author of the new report, said people who have been through disasters often used terms like “terrified” when describing what happened.

“So not surprisingly negative experience is a common denominator for the people who have been through this,” she said. “And estimates between seven and 40 percent of people who are experiencing natural disasters have some sort of mental health problem, such as anxiety or depression.”

Activists Behind Planned Parenthood Videos Hit With 15 New Felony Charges (California Again)

Redstate
Posted at 10:15 am on March 29, 2017 by Kimberly Ross

The duo who bravely exposed Planned Parenthood’s baby body parts operation through undercover videos has been charged by California prosecutors with 15 new felony counts.

In 2016, both David Daleiden and Sandra Merritt with the Center for Medical Progress were indicted by a Texas grand jury on felony tampering charges. Daleiden also received a second indictment. All charges were eventually dropped, and Planned Parenthood was left seething at the Harris County district attorney’s office.

Now, California’s Attorney General Xavier Becerra has charged the pair with 15 felonies. The Washington Times reports:

“The right to privacy is a cornerstone of California’s Constitution, and a right that is foundational in a free democratic society,” Mr. Becerra said in a statement. “We will not tolerate the criminal recording of confidential conversations.”
The pro-life activists are charged with criminal conspiracy to invade privacy and 14 counts of filming people without their permission in Los Angeles, San Francisco and El Dorado counties.
Kamala Harris, now a Democratic U.S. senator, began the investigation into the Center for Medical Progress when she was California attorney general. To replace her after her 2016 election, Gov. Jerry Brown picked Mr. Becerra, who had been was a Democratic member of the U.S. House and part of the caucus’s leadership team.
In response to the new charges, the Center for Medical Progress issued the following statement:

The bogus charges from Planned Parenthood’s political cronies are fake news. They tried the same collusion with corrupt officials in Houston, TX and failed: both the charges and the DA were thrown out. The public knows the real criminals are Planned Parenthood and their business partners like StemExpress and DV Biologics—currently being prosecuted in California—who have harvested and sold aborted baby body parts for profit for years in direct violation of state and federal law. We look forward to showing the entire world what is on our yet-unreleased video tapes of Planned Parenthood’s criminal baby body parts enterprise, in vindication of the First Amendment rights of all.
David Daleiden also took to social media to share his disgust…

…as well as a clip of Cecile Richards’ testimony during a 2015 Congressional hearing indicating taped conversations were “non-confidential.”

If you actually need a reminder of the evil that is Planned Parenthood, a new video released Wednesday morning by the Center for Medical Progress is all that is required. A portion of what the video contains, as described by CMP:

New undercover video shows Dr. DeShawn Taylor, previous Medical Director of Planned Parenthood of Arizona and longtime abortion provider at Planned Parenthood Los Angeles, graphically describing how to deliver intact fetuses in late-term abortions to harvest high-quality body parts, and indicating possible cover-up of infanticide.
At a networking reception at a Planned Parenthood conference, CMP investigators posing as buyers from a biotech company are introduced to Dr. Taylor by Dr. Deborah Nucatola, Planned Parenthood Federation of America’s Senior Director of Medical Services.
Dr. Taylor confirms she does elective abortions on healthy fetuses and pregnant women up to 24 weeks. When the investigators ask her about obtaining intact fetal organs, Dr. Taylor replies, “It’s not a matter of how I feel about it coming out intact, but I gotta worry about my staff and people’s feelings about it coming out looking like a baby.”
She continues, “We have the people who do our paperwork for the fetal death certificates, they email us calling them ‘babies’. Baby this, baby that, baby so-and-so, and I’m like, that’s creepy!”
Dr. Taylor explains to the investigators, “In Arizona, if the fetus comes out with any signs of life, we’re supposed to transport it. To the hospital.” When one investigator then asks, “Is there any standard procedure for verifying signs of of life?” Dr. Taylor replies, “Well, the thing is, I mean the key is, you need to pay attention to who’s in the room, right?”
Dr. Taylor then laughs as she repeats what the Arizona law requires, and says, “It’s a mess. It’s a mess.”
Dr. Taylor acknowledges that the feticidal chemical digoxin cannot be used in an abortion where fetal body parts will be harvested for sale, but she remarks that in a standard dismemberment dilation and evacuation abortion, “My biceps appreciate when the dig[oxin] works,” to kill the fetus before the procedure. “I remember when I was a [Family Planning] Fellow and I was training, I was like, Oh, I have to hit the gym for this,” she says, describing the force she feels in her biceps when performing a dismemberment abortion with forceps.

The struggles Daleiden and Merritt experience, the criminal charges brought against them, and the videos themselves all serve as proof of Planned Parenthood’s real agenda. They must be defunded. This organization receives approximately $500 million in taxpayer funds each year. Planned Parenthood also spent over $30 million during the 2016 campaign season to elect Hillary Clinton and other pro-aborts. Federal funding is clearly not necessary.

Planned Parenthood is adored by the abortion-loving Left. Attempts to uncover the evil behind the “women’s healthcare!” mask is quickly labeled as extreme. Or, as in the case of the CMP videos, “edited”, as if the words, phrasing, and joviality of those in the videos had been inserted later to appear more horrific. No, we’re aware that Planned Parenthood is flippant about life in general, and downright ecstatic at the possibility of procuring money-making body parts from the precious lives they happily murder and then discard in the name of “choice.”

As with the previous charges in Texas, hopefully the charges against Daleiden and Merritt in California will amount to nothing at all.

Thank You Ms Ross and Redstate.

Trump Signs Executive Order Unwinding Obama's Climate Change Agenda

Let's see how long it takes some activist Court to throw a hissy fit and block this one.

Flanked by more than two dozen coal miners at the Environmental Protection Agency Tuesday afternoon, President Donald Trump signed an executive order officially rolling back President Barack Obama's climate change agenda.

"My administration is putting an end to the war on coal," Trump said. "I want to thank the miners. You know, my guys get enough thanks. These guys haven't had enough thanks. They've had a hard time."

"We’re going to have safety, we’re going to have clean water, we’re going to have clean air, but so many [regulations] are unnecessary, so many are job-killing,” Trump continued.

"In particular, I want to thank the miners." @POTUS signs executive order rolling back Obama-era energy regs https://t.co/Ew37He8x98 pic.twitter.com/6L997Y4Kan— Fox News (@FoxNews) March 28, 2017

Vice President Mike Pence, EPA administrator Scott Pruitt, Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke and Energy Secretary Rick Perry were also on stage.

"We see coal miners who have been sidelined without a thought given to their future. This executive order will begin the process to unravel the red tape that has been keeping us on the sidelines," Perry said.

"Our nation can't run on pixie dust and coal," Zinke added. "The world is safer when America is strong, and our strength relies on energy."

The executive order rescinds Obama's Clean Power Plan, which was implemented to put coal power plants out of business through impossible emission compliance regulations. It also opens up gas leases on federal lands.

Thank You Ms Pavlich, Townhall, and President Trump.

Sanctuary Cities Are Hurting America, Making Us Less Safe

CNSnews
By Hans von Spakovsky | March 29, 2017 | 10:27 AM EDT

Attorney General Jeff Sessions’ announcement on Monday that the Justice Department will bar all sanctuary cities from receiving any grants or other federal funds from the department should be welcome news to Americans—especially those whose families have been victimized by criminal illegal aliens released by sanctuary cities like San Francisco.

As Sessions pointed out, Kate Steinle, a resident of San Francisco, was shot and killed two years ago by an illegal alien as a direct result of San Francisco’s policy of refusing to honor federal detainer warrants.

The killer, Francisco Sanchez, had seven previous felony convictions and the city released him from custody despite the fact that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) had filed a detainer with San Francisco asking that he be kept in custody until immigration agents could pick him up.

Sanchez even admitted to a television reporter that the only reason he came to San Francisco was because of the city’s sanctuary policy.

Sessions also mentioned another such incident that happened just within the last two weeks.

According to the attorney general, Ever Valles, another illegal alien, was charged with the murder and robbery of a man at a light rail station.

The only reason he was on the street was because the city of Denver refused to honor a detainer that ICE had filed with the city and released him from the Denver jail in December.

Valles is just one of many such criminal aliens who are being loosed on the American public by the reckless policies of sanctuary cities.

ICE recently released the first of its weekly reports on cities that have refused to honor ICE detainer warrants, as mandated by President Donald Trump’s executive order, “Enhancing Public Safety in the Interior of the United States.”

The report details all of the local jurisdictions across the country from Florida to New York to Washington state that refused ICE detainers from Jan. 28 to Feb. 3 and released criminals from their jails rather than turn them over to the federal government for deportation.

The crimes committed by these illegal aliens, as outlined in a report covering just a single week, include: domestic violence, arson, aggravated assault, burglary, forgery, intimidation, possession of a dangerous weapon, intimidation, drug trafficking, sexual assault, homicide, and a host of other crimes. This is also no surprise.

As I have outlined before, prior reports by the Government Accountability Office that have reviewed the criminal histories of illegal aliens in federal, state, and local jails show a path of destruction and repeated criminal behavior by criminal aliens that is truly shocking.

There are literally millions of Americans like Steinle who have been victimized by crimes committed by illegal aliens that should not have happened and would not have happened if we actually enforced our immigration laws and if local jurisdictions cooperated with federal authorities instead of trying to obstruct them.

Sessions said that the American people “are justifiably angry” about these sanctuary policies that endanger them. They understand something that irresponsible local officials don’t seem to care about: “When cities and states refuse to help enforce immigration laws, our nation is less safe.”

The failure to deport criminal aliens like Valles puts “whole communities at risk—especially immigrant communities in the very sanctuary jurisdictions that seek to protect the perpetrators.”

The amount of federal grant money at stake is more than $4.1 billion, which the Justice Department distributes through its Office of Justice Programs.

Sessions said that all jurisdictions applying for such grants will have to certify that they are in full compliance with 8 U.S.C. Sec. 1373, which bans local and state jurisdictions from prohibiting their employees—including law enforcement—from exchanging information with the federal government over the citizenship status of any individual.

The American people certainly agree with what Trump and Sessions are doing. Sessions cited a poll in which 80 percent of Americans agreed that illegal aliens arrested by cities should be turned over to immigration authorities.

Sessions urged state and city officials to “consider carefully the harm they are doing to their citizens by refusing to enforce our immigration laws, and to rethink these policies.”

Hopefully, the added incentive of losing access to billions of federal dollars will help them “rethink” their rash sanctuary policies.

State On Rise As Family Dies

Big Government. By The Numbers.

CNSnews
By Terence P. Jeffrey | March 29, 2017 | 4:33 AM EDT

In 1947, two years after the United States won World War II, 96.4 percent of the babies in this country were born to a married mother and father.

Not a single American was on Medicaid that year. The program did not exist. Nor did Obamacare.

Traditional families — mom, dad and kids — were the cultural norm.

Was America a great country in 1947? Or was it lacking in socialized health care programs?

In 1965, 20 years after World War II, President Lyndon Johnson signed the law creating Medicaid.

That year, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the percentage of American babies born to married moms and dads was 92.3 percent.

The traditional family was still the norm.

But by 2008, the percentage of babies born to married moms and dads was down to 59.4 percent — with 40.6 percent born to unmarried mothers. In each of the seven years on record since then, at least 40 percent of American babies have been born out of wedlock.

The last time more than 70 percent were born to married moms was more than a quarter century ago — in 1991.

The percentage of babies born on Medicaid is now above 40 percent, too.

In 1964, of course, not one baby was born on this then-nonexistent welfare program.

But a CDC study that looked at births in 2010 in 33 states and the District of Columbia determined that 44.9 percent of babies born in those jurisdictions were born on Medicaid.

A study published by Women's Health Issues concluded that nationwide in 2010, 48 percent of babies were born on Medicaid.

In 2016, the Kaiser Family Foundation surveyed the Medicaid programs in all 50 states and the District of Columbia. "On average," it determined, "states reported that Medicaid pays for just over 47 percent of all births."

"Eight states (Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Nevada, New Mexico, Oklahoma, South Carolina and West Virginia) reported that Medicaid pays for 60 percent or more of all births in their state," the survey said.

As America became a nation where a large percentage of babies were born out of wedlock and on Medicaid, it also became a nation where millions of babies were not allowed to be born at all.

In 1973, eight years after Johnson signed the Medicaid law, the Supreme Court declared it a "right" to abort an unborn child. Between then and 2014, according to the Guttmacher Institute, Americans aborted 55,541,800 babies.

That is more than the combined populations of California and Illinois.

The Republican leadership's weak and ill-fated plan to "repeal and replace" Obamacare included a provision that would have denied Planned Parenthood Medicaid (and other federal mandatory — but not discretionary — funding streams) for just one year. Calculating what it believed would be a diminution in the distribution of contraceptive services if Planned Parenthood lost this funding, the Congressional Budget Office drew the conclusion that "additional births" would cost the government money.

"The government would incur some costs for Medicaid beneficiaries currently served by affected entities because the costs of about 45 percent of all births are paid for by the Medicaid program," it said. "CBO estimates that the additional births stemming from the reduced access under the legislation would add to federal spending for Medicaid. In addition, some of those children would themselves qualify for Medicaid and possibly for other federal programs."

The government in a welfare state — with its materialistic view of life — sees the birth of a baby not as a net gain to the nation but as a net loss.

It does not recognize that all human beings — born and unborn — have a God-given right to life.

It does not see that mothers and fathers, in bringing a child into the world, may be inspired to work harder and achieve more not only for themselves but for their family.

Nor does it acknowledge that the wealth we have inherited as a people is the legacy of millions of babies born generations ago, when this nation still embraced the virtue of self-reliance and the sanctity of life.

We're Doing Grant, Not Patton But Neither One Had A Goof Like Ryan Screwing Things Up

Paul Ryan should walk around Congress for the next couple of weeks wearing a sign around his neck that reads, “I am a failure.” It’s not that everyone else doesn’t already know that he’s a failure – oh, that’s one message that he’s succeeded in getting out Lima Charlie – it’s that it doesn’t seem like he knows that he’s a failure. Perhaps some signage would remind him to wipe that smug, smarmy grin off his face, and inspire him to achieve something other than nothing.

Yet he’ll persist, with his unerring poor judgment, his undercurrent of condescension to anyone not in tune with his wonky nonsense, and his inability to master the most basic competencies of his job, in proving himself a worthy successor to John Boehner as the GOP’s biggest obstacle to victory. It’s certainly not the Democrats – those hacks spent the night of the healthcare retreat taking mass selfies celebrating Ryan’s hopelessness and convincing themselves that his running into the GOP’s own end zone was their score. It wasn’t – notwithstanding Paul’s unforced error, they are the Falcons at the Super Bowl with a halftime show featuring Nickelback.

See, the big news this week isn’t the first quarter Obamacare repeal festival of ineptitude – it’s that Neil Gorsuch is going to sail through to confirmation, leaving the burning wreckage of the SCOTUS filibuster in his wake. That’s the money right there, a win guaranteeing that the future confirmation of RBG’s replacement – who I hope is so conservative he eats raw meat off the bone – will be just a mere 51-vote technicality. And there’s other stuff too: laying the Keystone pipe, rolling back regulations, ICE booting out aspiring Democrats, and Trump wrangling new jobs. Even the fact that Team Trump was wiretapped was reaffirmed despite the NYT denying that when it reported that Team Trump was wiretapped it really meant that Team Trump was wiretapped. Slowly but surely, small win after small win – we’re moving toward victory. But thanks to kongressional klutzes like Ryan, a war of attrition is how it’s going to have to be.

Ulysses S. Grant also knew something about pummeling the stubborn Democrats of #TheResistance into submission, although his Democrats used iron chains instead of welfare and lies to keep their serfs in bondage. Grant wasn’t a big, flamboyant martial artist like George Patton – he didn’t make giant, bold strokes across the canvas of the battlefield. Grant was about brute force, not finesse. He found his Democrat enemy, fixed him in position, and beat on him until the Democrat couldn’t take it anymore and handed over his saber. That’s the right strategy for facing this intractable foe – luckily, the Democrats of today are merely a bunch of talky, whiny wusses, not the hardcore and courageous infantry and cavalry G-Dawg (and my ancestors) were called upon to regulate.

Grant had bad days too. Just ask the guys at The Crater. You don’t always win, even when you are exhausted from all your prior #winning. The enemy was delighted at the repeal screw-up: ABC News broke in with a special report, libgasmic at Ryan pulling the hapless bill, while the circle of smart over at CNN was breaking out the cuddles and cigs, certain that this was finally the beginning of the end of Trump. Nope. It’s still the beginning of the beginning. We’re are about 67 days in out of 1461, just 4.29% done, and the haters’ attempts to pronounce the Trump administration DOA are wishful unthinking. Of course, this is all now just a cliché – “Oh, Trump’s done for this time!” has been the “Oh, well I never!” of the Democrat and Fredocon Margaret Dumont Coalition since they figured out that he actually intends to do what he promised to do.

Grant had to deal with his share of failed commanders – Grant jebcanned Ambrose Burnside after the fiasco at The Crater. But Ryan is the head of half of a co-equal branch – he can’t just be cashiered, as much as everyone would like him to be. With no apparent generally acceptable replacement on the horizon, conservatives are stuck with a weakened, chastened P90X Paul. Maybe now, instead of blasting his own glutes (and ours), Ryan will start understanding that he needs to kick the glutes of our enemies. But then establishmentocons have shown zero capacity to learn from their myriad failures. Remember, these RINOs are the George McClellans of conservatism – always waiting waiting waiting for the “right time” that never comes to actually do battle with progressivism, and thereby letting it run rampant, pillaging the countryside.

We know the strategy – grind out win after win, big and small, over time until the liberals are broken. It’s the tactics that Ryan has botched; he’s shown no aptitude for the basic blocking and tackling of legislating and consistently falls back on the errors of the past. Here’s how healthcare should have gone. Paully, starting the morning of November 9th, you should have orchestrated an inclusive effort to create a bill based on a consensus that incorporated every stakeholder with the ability to icepick it (the transition team, the Freedom Caucus, the squishes, the think tanks, and most vitally, the Senate). Once you had something everyone agreed on – and 216 sure votes in the House and 51 in the Senate – you all appear with the Prez in front of the cameras to announce it before you actually put out the document, thereby cementing in the narrative about why the people should dig it before the haters can hate it into little pieces. Then you pass it and win.

But what did we get? A tactical clusterflunk. Seven years in and Ryan wasn’t ready. He putzed around with no sense of urgency until there was a sense of urgency. Who was expecting this dog’s breakfast to drop when it did? And it just dropped on us out of the blue – one day, suddenly, there’s this whole plan out there. Surprise! I listened to Hugh Hewitt the morning after it was released; he was stunned that he couldn’t get any of the Republican House leadership [sic] on his show to talk to his conservative audience about the biggest piece of legislation in Trump’s first term.

Paully, you gave the enemy precious hours to set the narrative, and the bill never recovered. How stupid can you be to have no full court press plan to sell it, to manage the message, even though my corgi-retriever could have foreseen the media’s narrative was going to be that this was the moral equivalent of the Rwandan genocide - only without all the love?

Three phases? You didn’t have the credibility for one phase and you were babbling about three. Any idiot could have seen that Phase III (“The Democrats Do Exactly the Opposite of What Democrats Do”) was never going to happen. Well, apparently not every idiot.

If you had incorporated all the people you needed in the drafting, they might have alerted you that this was New Coke dumb. But you and your cronies drafted it in secret in some dark room somewhere with no input from the people who actually had to go explain their vote to their voters. “Surprise! Here’s a steaming pile of garbage! Please vote for it because I want you to!” Yeah, no.

Congrats! That’s how you manage to garner a 17% approval rating for a plan to repeal something that is about as popular as herpes.

Luckily, most people aren’t #caring about #RepealFail like us political junkies. Within 12 hours, Twitter forgot about the fiasco and was back to trending topics of the #DeformAMovieWithOneLetter sort (“Star Warts”), though enough people were sufficiently freaked out to make it a good sale day for my novel about America splitting into red and blue halves.

Ryan is still making tactical errors. Instead of saying, “Tomorrow, I am calling together all the stakeholders and we are getting right back to work on fixing this,” it was, “Well, that was sad. Let’s forget about repealing Obamacare for a while and work on tax reform because it’s important to let the media spin us as focusing all our efforts on giving tax cuts to the rich instead of cutting normal people’s premiums.” And you just know Wonky O’Tonedeaf is going to wheel out a tax reform abortion cobbled together in some Cannon Office Building utility closet that screws over Republican voters with cuts to the home mortgage, charity, and state tax deductions because why wouldn’t the GOP be stupid enough to shaft its own voters while still managing to get painted by the media as toadying to the rich?

Obamacare’s getting repealed, just not today. Nor next month apparently, since the 438 members of the House can’t seem to do more than one thing at once. Of course, if Ryan didn’t have them working just eight days in April – yeah, you heard me right – maybe they could accomplish something besides managing to look both inept and lazy while currying favor with the zillionaires. You might as well wear top hats and monocles because you seem hellbent on validating every hack cliché about Republicans.

The Grant strategy is the only strategy that’s going to work against this stubborn, entrenched enemy. Grind it out, an inch at a time, until the enemy breaks. And luckily, Grant was able to win his war using this strategy even with tactically inept generals. Yet Paul Ryan, with his utter inability to competently manage legislation and, worse, with his total refusal to learn from his constant series of errors, is a real problem because Trump just can’t fire him. But the GOP caucus can, and they need to send him a message Lima Charlie. Learn or leave, Paully, because if you can’t kick some Democrat asset, you’re nothing but a liability.

Well said and Thank You Mr Schlichter and Townhall.

Rush offered the possibility today that Trump's support of Ryan's  Lipstick On A Pig and Make It OUR Fault instead of the Dems,  garbage bill may have been Bannon's Machiavellian ploy to achieve exactly what Mr Schlichter says can't be done: IE; get rid of Ryan.

Hope he's right. Unfortunately, we're still stuck with this back stabbing GOPE in the conservative woodpile.

The Clinton Fertilizer Spreader Rolls On: Chelsea To Get 'Lifetime Achievement' Award For Doing Nothing: Now Says, "Diabetes Caused By Global Warming"

Chelsea Clinton Gets Lifetime Achievement Award For Doing Nothing

Next month, Variety magazine will host its annual “Women in Power” luncheon, where it will pass out honors and awards to several lucky ladies who have dedicated their lives to the service of others.

The “Lifetime Impact Honorees” are all women whose work in 2016 and before have made the world a better place.

This year, for no apparent reason, Chelsea Clinton, the daughter of former President Bill Clinton and former Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, will get a one of those awards for her service to…well, that part’s not quite clear.

But she’ll be honored for her achievement anyway.

According to Variety (in partnership with Lifetime networks), the women will get the award for “their humanitarian work,” as well as their impact on the fields of entertainment and media. Included in this year’s group is Jessica Chastain, who has led a one-woman campaign in support of Planned Parenthood and O-magazine editor and Oprah BFF Gayle King, who uses her fortune to help the homeless and destitute in New York City.

Other honorees have fought child sex trafficking, helped homeless youth, and funded a vast network of legal clinics to aid the marginalized.

Chelsea Clinton, it says, is vice chair of the Clinton Foundation. A foundation she only works for because her parents founded it to keep their wealth flowing in the years they don’t spend running for public office. But it helps children.

Chelsea’s many other endeavors—authoring books that don’t sell, being snarky on Twitter, and serving on the board of several large-scale tech firms, operated by major Democratic donors—were oddly left out of her official biography.

Four hundred people are expected to attend the April 21st luncheon, one of the largest gatherings of powerful women each year. It’s almost certain Chelsea will attend, despite her crowded social calendar.

Thank You Ms Zanotti and Heatstreet.

So it’s not diet and heredity? Gotta love Chelsea, she’s always good for a little bit of crazy.

Via Twitchy:

Horrifying research; one degree Celsius increase could cause a bunch of people to get diabetes.

Right.

It could … but then again climate change could ALSO cause an increase in the number of monkeys flying out of your butt.

Thank You Nick.

Where's that double shot of Thorazine on the rocks?
