Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake made the phrase famous by stating that she was giving rioters ‘space to destroy’when they rioted on April 27th. Police claimed she held them back, among other claims was that she said,”it’s just property”. Millions of dollars in damage and 100 injured cops followed this foolishness.
While Rawlings-Blake was giving rioters space to destroy, Marilyn Mosby was actually cheering them on, in such speeches as after her Freddie Gray announcement where she encourages them, saying, “our time is now”.
But back when Mosby was 20, she took more of a dim view of looters and property destroyers, when a man broke into her college apartment, occupying it while she was away and causing damages. She went on ‘Judge Judy’ to mediate the dispute and won, as you can see in the video above.
