Planned Parenthood To Give Nancy Pelosi Award Named After Group's Racist. Eugenics-Supporting Founder Margaret Sanger

Does this mean Pelosi backs Sanger’s belief that ”black” and “yellow” babies are “inferior” and therefore deserve to die in the womb?

EU Marks Holocaust Remembrance Day Without Ever Mentioning Jews . . .

weaselzippers;
EU Marks Holocaust Remembrance Day Without Ever Mentioning Jews . . .

The EU’s pro-Arab bias on full display.
Via JPost:
Baroness Catherine Ashton, the European Union’s high representative for foreign affairs and vice president of the European Commission, issued a statement this week marking international Holocaust Remembrance Day.
It was commendable that the EU at all chose to note the day, but what Ashton said on its behalf on Monday was surreal. She managed to use 121 words without ever mentioning Jews. Her glaring omission is quite remarkable.
Ashton even lauded “all those who acted with courage and sacrifice to protect their fellow citizens against persecution.”
But who were these nameless “fellow citizens”? It is highly doubtful that Ashton’s lapse is inadvertent.
Not everything can be ascribed to unintentional slipups.
The bizarre homage Europe’s spokeswoman paid to “every one of those brutally murdered in the darkest period of European history,” without any reference to their identity, strains common sense.
Perhaps Europe in general and Ashton in particular find Holocaust Remembrance Day a troublesome, even a disagreeable burden. Hence Ashton obscured the Jewish context with a short collection of hackneyed platitudes on tolerance and human rights.
This is a cogent example of how Holocaust history is increasingly watered down, especially in Europe. Yesteryear’s physical destruction is followed by today’s distortion of remembrance.
This serves two purposes.
First, it seems to clear European nations – not just the chief genocide perpetrators, but those that collaborated and/or profited from the industrial extermination of the Jews. By robbing the Holocaust of its uniqueness and likening it to any subsequent, yet very different ethnic massacre, it becomes less of a moral stain. Any corollary obligation to the Jewish people is thereby expunged.
Second, the disingenuous pretense that the Holocaust’s victims were anonymous and faceless reduces friction with the Arab/Muslim world, which chafes against Holocaust commemoration lest it even theoretically imply sympathy for Jews.

JNJ Announces Clinical Trial Data Sharing Agreement with Yale School of Medicine - or - Corporatist, Info Gatekeeping Censorship

JNJ Announces Clinical Trial Data Sharing Agreement with Yale School of Medicine

NEW BRUNSWICK, January 30, 2014 – Johnson & Johnson today announced that its subsidiary, Janssen Research and Development, LLC, has entered into a novel agreement with Yale School of Medicine's Open Data Access (YODA) Project that will extend its commitment to sharing clinical trials data to enhance public health and advance science and medicine.  Under the agreement, YODA will serve as an independent body to review requests from investigators and physicians seeking access to anonymized clinical trials data from Janssen, the pharmaceutical companies of Johnson & Johnson, and make final decisions on data sharing. This is the first time any company has collaborated with a completely independent third party to review and make decisions regarding every request for clinical data.

"Sharing anonymized data from clinical trials is critical to advance public health because it furthers our understanding of diseases, expands the base of knowledge needed to develop new treatments, and generates new insights and more complete evidence to enable better healthcare decisions for patients - all while protecting patient privacy and confidentiality," said Joanne Waldstreicher, MD, Chief Medical Officer, Johnson & Johnson. "We are pleased to collaborate with YODA to ensure that each and every request for access to our pharmaceutical clinical data is reviewed objectively and independently.  This represents a new standard for responsible, independent clinical data sharing."

Under the agreement, YODA will independently review and make final decisions regarding all requests for the company's clinical trial data including clinical study reports (CSRs) and de-identified patient-level data.  While YODA members may reach out to Janssen researchers with questions, the final decision on data sharing will be made by YODA. Members of the YODA team at Yale School of Medicine will select and appoint an independent external panel of non-Janssen experts to help in some cases to assess requests.

In addition to Janssen's sharing of data from pharmaceutical product clinical trials through the agreement with YODA, Johnson & Johnson is also committed to the sharing of data from clinical trials of the medical device and consumer products of the Johnson & Johnson family of companies.

"Responsible sharing of clinical trial data advances science and medicine and is part of Johnson & Johnson's commitment to the doctors, nurses, patients, mothers, and fathers and all others who use our products," said Paul Stoffels, MD, Chief Scientific Officer, Johnson & Johnson & Worldwide Chairman, Pharmaceuticals. "Our agreement with YODA exemplifies the Johnson & Johnson family of companies' commitment to science, medicine and public health by creating a standardized independent, transparent and reproducible process for sharing our clinical trial data."

Janssen has also launched a new web-based mechanism to assist researchers in requesting access to data from the company's clinical trials. External researchers can make a request for clinical trial data on products from Janssen, the pharmaceutical companies of Johnson & Johnson, using the following link: www.clinicaltrialstudytransparency.com.

The companies of Johnson & Johnson continue to maintain their longstanding policies for registration and publication of clinical trial data, irrespective of the outcome of the studies, and to support the overall principles of greater clinical trial data transparency.

[Ed; See Govt. Complaint Exhibits #8 and #9 Re: RIS 232]

Additionally, Johnson & Johnson and Janssen support the overall PhRMA-EFPIA principles of greater clinical trial data transparency and sharing, including registration and disclosure of clinical trial results in external registries, publication of results in peer reviewed journals, and sharing of Clinical Study Reports.
"We already have well established policies for registration and disclosure of clinical trial results in external registries as well as publication of results in peer reviewed journals, and we have historically worked with external researchers to address other types of data requests," said Bill Hait, MD, PhD, Global Head, Janssen R&D.

"We are delighted that through agreement with YODA, we will now be able to share data from our clinical trials in the form of Clinical Study Reports (CSRs) and participant level data in a systematic and objective way that advances medicine and scientific knowledge while protecting patient privacy and confidentiality," Dr. Hait added.

Study: 96% Of Dems Who Supprt Raising Minimum Wage Don't Pay Their Interns

Assploding hypocrisy.
[Ed; And Then Some.]
In this week’s State of the Union address, President Obama is expected to ask members of Congress to pass a nearly 40% increase in the federal minimum wage.
A new Employment Policies Institute (EPI) analysis shows that the vast majority of the bill’s sponsors are legislating with a  “do as I say, not as I do” approach: Fully 96% of the House and Senate sponsors of the Fair Minimum Wage Act of 2013 do not pay their interns. In other words, the same Members of Congress who are supporting a 40% wage hike on private sector employers are simultaneously failing to provide any wages to their own employee interns.

The chairman of the House Veterans Affairs Committee slammed President Obama’s record on veteran issues ahead of Obama’s sixth State of the Union address Tuesday, declaring that Congress “will be forced to take legislative action” to hold the administration accountable.
Republican Rep. Jeff Miller blasted Obama’s inability to hold his Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) accountable for its backlog of unprocessed veteran benefit claims, preventable veteran deaths at VA clinics, and a recent website glitch that exposed the personal information of thousands of veterans to theft.
“Veterans issues deserve more than just a passing reference during the upcoming State of the Union address, so I hope President Obama will take the opportunity to demonstrate a substantive commitment to providing the leadership that has so far been lacking at his Department of Veterans Affairs,” Miller said in a statement.
“VA’s widespread and systemic lack of accountability is exacerbating all of its most pressing problems, including the department’s stubborn disability benefits backlog, a mounting toll of preventable veteran deaths at VA medical centers across the country and VA’s continued inability to protect the personal info of America’s more than 20 million veterans,” Miller said.

Nancy Pelosi applauded President Obama for taking action to raise the minimum wage of federal contractors, citing the Emancipation Proclamation as a precedent for such executive action. Even though she would have preferred to see the raise come through legislatively, she said it was “fine” for the president to bypass Congress because he had “exhausted” other options. [...]
Mentioning Abraham Lincoln’s executive order to free the slaves during the Civil War, Pelosi said there are times where such actions are appropriate. ”There are many things that happened over time that wouldn’t have ever happened waiting for Congress,” she said, referring to the Emancipation Proclamation.

Holder Can't Explain Constitutional Basis For Obama's Executive Orders

weaselzippers;
Holder Can't Explain Constitutional Basis For Obama's Executive Orders

Because there isn’t any.
Attorney General Eric Holder couldn’t explain the constitutional basis for executive orders such as President Obama’s delay of the employer mandate because he hasn’t read the legal analysis — or at least, hasn’t seen it in a long time.
“I’ll be honest with you, I have not seen — I don’t remember looking at or having seen the analysis in some time, so I’m not sure where along the spectrum that would come,” Holder replied when Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah, asked him to explain the nature of Obama’s constitutional power to delay the mandate.
Lee had based his question on a standard legal test, first described by Supreme Court Justice Robert Jackson, who said the president’s authority to issue executive orders is strongest when he does so with the backing of Congress (category one), more dubious when he issues an order pertaining to a topic on which Congress has not passed a law (category two), and weakest when the executive order is “incompatible with a congressional command” (category three), to use Lee’s paraphrase.

Obama's SOTU: Pre Game Prediction and Counter View: Prof Walter Williams on The Politics of Hate and Envy

Since we're expecting Obama to pivot once again away from 37% unemployment, 93 Million Americans out of work, and an expected 90 Million Americans to Lose their current Health Insurance due to his PPACA, by wasting Everybody's time with a divisive and misleading tirade about "Income Inequality" in America, let's check in with Economics Prof Walter E. Williams for "The Politics of Hate and Envy."

CNSNews;
The Politics of Hate and Envy

By Walter E. Williams

Part of the progressive agenda is to create hate and envy. One component of that agenda is to attack the large differences between a corporation's chief executive officer's earnings and those of its average worker.
CNNMoney published salary comparisons in "Fortune 50 CEO pay vs. our salaries." Wells Fargo CEO John Stumpf's annual salary is $2.8 million. CNN shows that it takes 66 Wells Fargo employees, whose average salary is $42,400, to match Stumpf's salary. It takes 57 Wal-Mart employees, who earn $22,100 on average, to match CEO Michael Duke's $1.3 million. At General Electric, 44 employees earning $75,300 a year match CEO Jeff Immelt's $3.3 million salary.

For people with little understanding, such differences seem patently unfair. Before touching on the fairness issue, let's look at some high salaries that progressives ignore.

Forbes
lists the "Highest-Paid Football Players 2013." Drew Brees, quarterback for the Saints, earned $40 million. If the average Saints organization employee earned $45,000, it would take almost 900 of them to match Brees' salary. Patriots quarterback Tom Brady earned $31.3 million, and Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant earns $23.5 million for playing basketball. It would take the earnings of more than 1,200 workers making $45,000 a year to match the earnings of Brady and Bryant.

But the "unfair" salaries of sports players pale in comparison with movie stars. According to
Forbes' listing of the highest-paid actors,  Robert Downey Jr. earned $75 million from June 2012 to June 2013. Channing Tatum: $60 million. Hugh Jackman: $55 million. Let's suppose the cameraman working with Downey earned $60,000. It would take the salaries of 1,250 of them to equal his salary. Oprah Winfrey's 2012 salary came to $165 million, thousands of times what the earnings of people who work for her are.

Though sports and Hollywood personalities earn multiples of CEO salaries, you'll never find leftists and progressives picketing and criticizing them. Why?

The strategy for want-to-be tyrants is to demonize people whose power they want to usurp. That's the typical way tyrants gain power. They give the masses someone to hate. In 18th-century France, it was Maximilien Robespierre's promoting hatred of the aristocracy that led to his acquiring dictatorial power. In the 20th century, the communists gained power by promoting public hatred of the czars and capitalists. In Germany, Adolf Hitler gained power by promoting hatred of Jews and Bolsheviks.

I'm not equating America's progressives and liberals with Robespierre, Josef Stalin and Hitler. I am saying that promoting jealousy, fear and hate is an effective strategy for leftist politicians and their followers to control and micromanage businesses. It's not about the amount of money top executives earn. If it were, politicians and leftists would be promoting jealousy, fear and hatred toward multi-multimillionaire Hollywood actors, celebrities and sports stars.

But there is no way that politicians could usurp the roles of Drew Brees, Kobe Bryant, Robert Downey Jr. and Oprah Winfrey. That means celebrities can make any amount of money they want and it matters not one iota politically. Do you think President Barack Obama would stoke the fires of hate and envy by remarking that he thinks that "at a certain point, you've made enough money" — as he did in a 2010 Quincy, Ill., speech — in regard to the salaries of Winfrey, Brees and Hollywood celebrities?

Why the high salaries? Ask yourself: If a corporate board of directors could hire a person for $45,000 who could do what a CEO could do, why would they pay CEOs millions? If an NFL team owner could hire a person with the athletic ability and decision-making capacity of Drew Brees for $100,000, why would he pay Brees $40 million? If some other actor could have created as many box-office receipts, why would movie producers have paid Downey $75 million?

There's another important issue. If one company has an effective CEO, it is not the only company that would like to have him on the payroll. In order to keep him, the company must pay him enough so that he can't be lured elsewhere.

Thank You Prof Williams and CNS.

Senator Ted Cruz: Obama Should Apologize To The Nation In State Of The Union

via weaselzippers;
Ted Cruz: Obama Should Apologize To The Nation In State Of The Union

And for IRS persecution, Benghazi, usurpation of powers not Constitutionally his, and and and… Chances of this happening? Zero.

Via NRO:
With the bungled launch of HealthCare.gov and the Affordable Care Act causing millions losing their healthcare coverage, Ted Cruz urged the president to use Tuesday’s State of the Union address to apologize to the American people.
“For the State of the Union, one of the things President Obama really ought to do is look in the TV camera and say to the over five million Americans all across this country who’ve had their health insurance canceled because of Obamacare, to look in the camera and say, “I’m sorry — I told you if you like your health insurance plan, you can keep it,” the Texas senator said on Face the Nation on Sunday. “‘I told you if you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor, and that wasn’t true — I’m sorry.’”
But the president doesn’t match his words with action, Cruz said. “The pattern we’ve seen over and over again with this president is he says he’s sorry and he expresses outrage but then he doesn’t fix the problem.”

Thank You Senator Cruz, WZ and Nickarama.
